See all the soldiers in the pics from W's latest photo op (graphics)
A fair number of them aren't real soldiers.

Other people have commented that many of the soldiers looked unhappy. Turns out that many of the people who are surrounding W for these pics aren't unhappy soldiers, they are his security. What a farce. Why does he need so much protection even when he is in the middle of his own troops? So much for being a man of faith.

1. Man behind W on his right. Man with turned back leaning on W's right arm. Second man behind W with back turned.

2. Man behind W's left shoulder. Man behind him with back turned.

3. Man behind W's left shoulder. Same man as in picture #1

4. Man with wearing wire standing in front of W. Man directly behind W with his back to W's back. At least three other men don't appear to be wearing emblems on their uniforms.

5. Man behind W's left. Same man as in #4

6. Man behind W's right.

7. The man with the cord again.

1. "Man with the cord again"
His rank is Specialist 4th Class. So these SS guys went all out to try to disguise themselves, actually posing as real troops.

17. Notice how many of them are miswearing the uniform.
Like the guy in pic #5 with his jacket open, hanging loosely over his brown shirt.

Big no-no.

15. Just noticed
an unusual number of people around him with their backs turned to him in some of the pictures that were popping up around here. I mentioned it on another thread and another poster pointed out that the SS guys were probably the ones without markings on their uniforms. So then I decided to dig through Yahoos photo files and to see how many pics included people who were obviously something other than what they were pretending to be. In every picture where there are more than just a couple of people around W it appears that a fair number of them were security rather than ordinary soldiers who happened to be so lucky to get a visit from our illustrious commander in thief. For a crowd of 600 people, it's really odd that just a handful of the same ones end up in all the pictures.

3. I can believe some were not GI but I do think this
Bush is really not feeling safe in his oun country. It looks like madness. I understand he had his own cook, fix the mean in the Pub. Who is the taster? We need to take some of this silly bubble away from these prez. and cut down what we give to congress. This is just madness. I mean he flys around the country at our cost like he is some type of Czar. Why not get some one to run on such things.

Man in 4 to the right of W*s head & 5 in background same, most likely SS.

5. I have to say
Edited on Sat Nov-29-03 08:39 PM by Marianne
that it is obvious Bush goes along with all of the pretense--but number six-the fake tears? Is it? He looks like a real bad actor. Pathetic that he must appear before the troops with all of these protectors--protectors from the troops no less!! HEH--does he fear the troops? LOL

Maybe * is worried one of them has weapons of mass production.

7. Did the Secret Service fear that Bush was going to attacked by GIs?
What a great vote of confidence in his own troops by Bush. This is the first time I have seen such a glaring similarity between Bush and Saddam.

8. Secret Service are usually easy to spot
because they are NEVER looking directly at the person they're protecting.

11. He never makes appearances
outdoors does he? I could have missed it but it seems like every time that I do see him (at another fund raiser) it is always inside, never outdoors or shaking hands with regular citizens. He must live in fear. Could you ever see Clinton being forced to behave like this? he wouldn't do it.

20. I remember when he walked out of the White House
to light the Christmas tree. They had a transparentbulletproof walkway up to where he flicked the switch..He never went outside at all. And this was early on – before Iraq.

Oh, that's a classic line. I love it!

Ya know, that turkey on the platter is sooo much more photogenic than the turkey holding the platter.

What a sham, what a farce.

If the 5 a.m. story can be verified and these phony "soldiers" in the pics - wow! The chimp has been debunked again!:toast:

16. the meal was NOT at 5 a.m.
That report was a mistake. A stupid mistake.

Regarding the non-troops in camoflage -- members of the press were also forced to change into camoflage in order to "blend in."

18. Making the press wear camos is very weird.

I doubt it was done so they could blend in with sand dunes but rather so they'd look like soldiers in the photos. Do they think the American people don't know that press always cover presidential photo ops?

22. Is this real or staged?
Did he really fly all the way to a war zone and back on Thanksgiving day? Very uncharacteristic of him.

Or... Was this held on some hollywood backlot. If the mealtime isn't right and the soldiers are really secret service and photographers, then the plane could have flown around for a while and then landed at a landing strip in Arizona or someplace with dry weather.

I wouldn't put it past them. However I do recall some DUer posting that her nephew was in the video or the pics, as a cook I believe.

He was there, but I'm still not clear on the time. Sure looks like morning light to me, but the timeline suggests it was early evening.
