We must force Bush's 9/11 stonewalling into front page news
Something has been bothering me for quite some time, and after seeing this link on DU (http://physics911.org/net/modules/news/article.php?storyid=23) that something is festering into a rage.
Apparently, the one vocal critic of the Bush admin's stonewalling of 9.11 has been silenced through the offer of a new job. Thus, what should be a consistent headline story and topic of all the pundit shows continues to be ignored.

Of course, the state of the media today plays a large part in that, but we deserve much of the blame ourselves. We need to force our Democratic congressmen to force the media to give this issue the daylight it deserves. We need to write, call, fax, email - anything possible to tell our representatives to fire away at this issue until there is a resolution.

When the repubs pulled their 38 hour filibuster of the filibuster stick, the democrats should not have countered with talk of jobs or the economy, instead every damn democrat that took the Senate Floor, should have hammered away at the unconscionable effort to deny an effort to learn from 9.11. Every weekly democratic radio address should demand full disclosure of documents from the White House, should scold this administration for preventing the 9.11 commission from doing their jobs, and engrain into every American the obsurdities in the fact that we spent 40 Million on Monica investigations, and only 600,000 into investigating WTC building collapses, and 3 million for the 9.11 investigation. If Democrats make a concerted and unified effort, this will get into the media. Unfortunately, the only way they would do that is through a viligent effort on the part of their constituents.

There is no plausable explanation for what the Bush Admin is doing. If we get this into public debate, they lose.

So, starting tonight, I have emailed both of my Senators (even Republican Fitzgerald, who has been alienated by the GOP and might make some noise) several reps, as well as other prominent Senators. In addition, I am going to email every prominent liberal columnist and explain my plan. I will continue writing letters every day until I get some results. I hope you all will join me.

2. Daschle could help by appointing a family member of one of the 9-11
groups to replace Cleland.

3. Emailing is not always the most effective, but FAXING is.

Also phoning. And that TOLL FREE CAPITOL HILL SWITCHBOARD NUMBER, again, is

1 (800) 839 - 5276.

Sad to say, emails usually go down a black hole where they're only logged by topic, and noted by how numerous they are. Phone calls are more effective because you wind up talking to a (Dem) staffer who may actually be receptive to you, and with whom you can plant an idea or buzz-phrase.

LETTER WRITING is best of all. Followed by FAXES, because they involve a paper trail that actually has to be picked up, looked at, and dealt with.

REPETITION is ESSENTIAL!!!

I do NOT want to rain on your parade in any way, though. If you want to email also, by all means go ahead and do so. But back it up with a letter or phone call also, since you sound really motivated. We ALL need to do what you're doing. I applaud your resolve and, even more, your ACTION!!!!!!!!

On edit - I will, in fact, join you, once again, first thing Monday morning, and get back on those phones. I have a few republi-CON congressmembers I wanna give HELL to, for allowing themselves to be strongarmed and threatened by their leadership, and selling out seniors like nobody's business.

6. Thanks for the number
I will be writing many handwritten letters, but I figured I might as well start out with some emails since I could get those sent immediately and I felt the need to get something done tonight.

4. New York Times should be editorializing about this...
since they are the hometown paper of the most people directly affected by 9/11. Senators Clinton and Schumer should be speaking out strongly and often. Maybe contacting the NYT and these two Senators would help --
