Watching Washington Journal
Edited on Sun Nov-30-03 09:31 AM by RebelOne
And there are callers who still believe that Iraq and 9/11 are connected. I wish these people would get their heads out of the sand.

But on the good side, the majority of callers are against the war anti-Bush.

1. Yip, the Wingnuts Have Succeeded in Equating the Slogan
"War on Terror" = "attack whomever"

2. Phyllis Bennis is Kicking Ass
This goon from the Heritage assylum keep chirping the party line..."Democracy in Iraq" (gag) and "War on Terrorism". He laughs and shifts his eyes when Phyllis bashes him over the head. It's quite amusing.

4. Ever notice that when they have a Democratic spokesperson
Edited on Sun Nov-30-03 09:47 AM by SoCalDem
they ALWAYS have a Heritage foundation person sitting across from them to counter everything they say, but when they have conservos on, they are on without opposition??

The anti immigrant guy was on for an HOUR with no one to counter him, and almost every day they have conservatives on alone..

This irritates me to no end.. of course everything irritates me :)

6. I Want To Hear These Goons Unfiltered
I consider C-SPAN different than the other cable networks and far removed from "mainstream media". Thus, having some right wing goon can be a very interesting study in how these "beings" operate.

My bets are the producers for these shows go the "easy way" when they schedule shows...especially on the weekends...and the Heritage assylum has always made it their business to make people available for talk shows...no matter how obscure. This is part of how the RW agenda has been advanced...just like watching sausage being made.

This goon isn't a very good spokesperson. He's so scripted and can't get off the parrot points.

11. I thought the very same thing
On any given program, there is quite often someone to counter a spokesperson for our side but the wingnuts get unfettered, free reign with no such balance most of the time. Pisses me the hell off, too.

I could listen to Phyllis for hours.

12. I'm glad I'm not alone SoCalDem...
Today I have the TV off just so I won't be irritated. I really need a break from the negative stimulus. I am really torn between feeling that it is so important to keep abreast of where this country is going, and feeling simply overwhelmed by how it appears to be on the fast-track to facism.

It just seems there is so little one person can do, so I guess it behooves me then to try and retain some semblance of sanity throughout this bizarro trip we're on. So, I just have to shut the TV down from time to time so that I don't shut down instead.

Just to let you know the feeling is mutual.

15. Make that three of us. I'm so tired of the right wing hacks
Edited on Sun Nov-30-03 11:22 AM by Mountainman
They have nothing new to say but they are on every channel saying it. The minute I detect the right wing slant I turn it off and most times that's all there is. I've heard it all before and don't want or need to hear it again.

You'd think that there would be someone in the business that understands we don't watch and wants our dollars so would be less right wing. I don't understand the 24/7 blasting of conservative views. Maybe it is a fascist country and I just don't know it.

I use to think we were luckier than the Russians who only got state sponsored news but now I see the enemy and they are us!

7. I called in on Open Phones this AM
and mentioned the letters in Military Times that were anti-Limbaugh and how military is complaining about the fact that there are Democratic soldiers out there too. Said bush should have gone to Iraq but why did he have to sneak, where else had he been sneaking, called him a quick change artist (all the military garb) said he wanted to be "macho" and wasn't - said he was "girly-boy with a belt buckle"
