We now measure Christmas by how Walmart Sales and how much debt
Edited on Sun Nov-30-03 11:42 AM by cthrumatrix
consumers sink into.

Headlines of how wonderful Walmart sales are and consumers spending their last dime for corporations that don't give a damn about them are our new "christmas icon's" .... if everyone is spending...then so should I.

1. HEY, WM sells quality chinese stuff!
That none of us need!

Seriously, the rah-rah over christmas sales makes one wonder what its all about.

We need that show -Charlie Brown Christmas- on 24 hours a day.

2. Has anyone seen...
any mention of how other retailers are doing? I don't care how well Wal-Mart is doing--that money doesn't make it's way back into the economy with the slave wages this corporation pays or with Wal-Mart forcing manufacturers in America and the sweatshops around the world to sell their goods to them at the cheapest prices possible. It goes into the pockets of the Waltons, so what is the point? And I don't believe our economy is doing all that good, either. Like the Wal-Mart numbers, someone is telling us only the good news--anything that looks good for Bush.

Wal Mart-in: Ames-out! K Mart-Out! All little private owned stores gone. Wal Mart is Xmas. The only one in town.
