Security breach? FREEPER reports on Bush in Baghdad as it was happening!!
I think its funny that someone was reporting this event as it was happening from Baghdad, so much for "tight" security. They make the reporters take the batteries out of their cell phones, but they don't take the computers from the Freepers. . .

President Bush secretly landed an hour ago and is currently eating Thanksgiving dinner at my undisclosed location. Anticipate a press release after he takes off.

3. I saw that thread..
on freepville...It appears that someone sent that thread to someone in high places that very day it was posted..If you read that thread, that freeper reported it and had a lot of responses..however, that person only wrote one more comment since the original post. The other freepers were PO'd because he divulged his location. Apparently, some freeper turned his ass in..If you read that thread, you can clearly see how obsessed they are as a group because of their fearless leader, lol, spooning out the dinner..Ya right! We know the facts that it was just another photo-op..

Nope, still here and not under arrest.

For the record, the admin was correct in pulling the thread as some competent Freeper was able to piece-together a general location from previous posts. However, the specific location could not have been determined, even with the clues I left.

Additionally, the secrecy was so great that people guarding the mess hall didn't even know who was inside--even after he left and took off.

I had no prior knowledge of his visit other than the generic word given out that there would be a "special guest" attending the dinner. I was outside the building and heard a roar so loud, it shook the place. It was then that I put the clues together. When I got back to work and, after considering the implications, the timing, security situation, and the level of detail to announce, went with the post.

He openly speculated that Bush was coming as a "special guest"

On News/Activism 11/26/2003 8:02 AM PST #32 of 37

Yes, it's true.

It will be here, on Baghdad Int'l Airport for Thanksgiving Dinner along with that jerk from RI, (Reede I think it is).

We must attempt to contain the BOOs.

Also just learned that we'll be having a suprise guest. We think it maybe X42, but aren't sure.

27. That last one refers to Senator Clinton--hence the disrespectful
use of the pronoun "it."

If you go back to FR, to that thread, you can see that he's answering someone about Senator Clinton's visit to Iraq.

Note that in the 8:02 a.m. post he says:

1. "We must attempt to contain the BOOS. And

2. "We think it maybe X42."

Dig: Bush is (nominally) Pres. #43

Two reasons this guy can't be referring to the Fierce Warrior Chieftain: Wrong number, and it would never occur to a freeper that someone might boo the great man.

QED: The army freeper thought that one or the other of the Clintons was going to be the guest, and thought breaching security would be just the neatest thing. What better way to rid the world of the great scourge?

Wait a minute, hold on here. Is this an update on the freeper's post? That contradicts the "nail-biting" story about the British pilot who thought he spotted Air Force One, a 747. If in fact it was a Gulfstream, how the hell could a pilot mistake it for Air Force One?

"The first phase of his clandestine Thanksgiving journey went without a hitch, but his cover was nearly blown hours later when a British Airways pilot looked out of his cockpit and saw a familiar blue-and-white Boeing 747 soaring over the Atlantic at more than 660 mph. ''Did I just see Air Force One?'' the stunned pilot asked over the radio. After a long silence, Air Force Col. Mark Tillman, the presidential pilot, replied innocuously, ''Gulfstream 5.'' ''Oh,'' the British Airways pilot answered, dropping the issue.
http://newstrove.com/cgi-bin/search.pl?search=andrew+luster&title=Andrew+Luster&category=miscellaneous&alias=andrewluster

:wtf:

Edit: Pilots do not respond with identification of their airplane; a pilot would have simply responded "Negative," and left it at that. In fact, it would be up to the Air Control Center to respond, if they heard the radio address, not the pilot. This whole story about being spotted by a Brit pilot is BOGUS.

AF1 was probably used to get to Kuwait or Qatar, and then the gulfstream to Baghdad.
There wouldn't have been enough room in a gulfstream for * to nap comfortably to/from the middle east.

THIS IS NOT AN AUTOMATED RESPONSE

Thank you for your submission of information via
the FBI.Gov Web site. Inasmuch as the FBI
receives reports of this type of activity on a
regular basis there is no need to forward any such
additional emails to the FBI.

A review of the information you provided revealed
that you are being approached over the Internet to
participate in one of many variations of an
advance fee scheme being perpetrated by
individuals from various West African nations,
particularly Nigeria. Victims have lost
substantial funds in the past and all requests for
travel to foreign locations should be ignored.
The United States Secret Service (USSS) has
developed an excellent, detailed description of
this fraud scheme, which can be accessed at
http://www.secretservice.gov/alert419.shtml. If
you have been victimized by one of these schemes,
please forward appropriate written documentation
to the USSS, Financial Crimes Division, 950 H

(202) 406-5850. We encourage you to share this Web
page with family and friends. Your continued
cooperation in this and other matters is greatly
appreciated.

You do not need to forward the emails to us.
Also, if you know that you are receiving Spam

your email address will be validated by the sender
even if you don?t reply to the email.

For your information, the Internet Tip Line (ITL)
was created on 9/11/01, in response to the
terrorist attacks upon America. We quickly
established a mechanism for the public to submit
information to the FBI via the Internet, and we
received our first tip at 10:31 AM that first day.
Director Mueller has since made the ITL a
permanent part of FBI
operations, and we have thus far received over
700,000 tips from around the globe, from which
thousands of leads have been sent to FBI Field and
Legal Attaché offices for action.

Initially, almost 100% of the tips received were
related to the terrorist attacks; however, now
approximately 45% of all tips received are related
to almost every other FBI criminal program, e.g.,
drug trafficking, organized crime, money
laundering, pyramid schemes, child pornography,
fugitives, bank robbery.

Our operation is completely automated and
paperless. Submitted tips are received
immediately, reviewed within minutes and
prioritized by trained Professional Support
personnel, and action leads are set by Agents
within the hour, as appropriate.

I encourage you to share this information with
your family, friends, and co-workers, and
encourage them to not hesitate to submit
information they may deem of interest to the FBI.
Again, thank you for taking the time to forward
this report to us.

IMPORTANT ? NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

The FBI does not maintain an email address to
submit information or attachments to directly;
therefore, please do not reply directly to this
message via your email client. The FBI maintains
an automated system that is designed to track all
information received to ensure that all tips are
addressed in a timely and efficient manner.
Therefore, please visit the FBI.GOV Web site again
should you have occasion to submit additional
information. We WILL NOT open or respond to

President Bush secretly landed an hour ago and is currently eating Thanksgiving dinner at my undisclosed location. Anticipate a press release after he takes off.

ChiefKujo http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1029949/posts

I clicked on that thread Thursday, before the story had even broken and the guy had the location in his profile as Iraq. A search of all his posts made that unmistakenly clear. This security breach occured with the knowledge of the Admin who obliged by simply pulling the 1-2 posts where people had already pieced Bush's location together and wiping the guy's profile.

A MAJOR SECURITY BREACH that ENDANGERED the lives of OUR FAMILY MEMBERS AND FRIENDS OVER THERE and those idiots are laughing! It's a damn good thing no terrorists were lurking on their stupid board!

They think we don't have family over there! As if we aren't worried sick about our loved ones or the soldiers some of us trained when we were in the Military. How heartless and thoughtless they are!

Talk about a bunch of idiots! They should be ashamed of themselves and RIGHT NOW thanking God that they and their cowboy President didn't get our boys killed and start a major catastrophe!
To my new Chigago posting friend with a nephew over there, I am glad the Good Lord protected that fine-looking young man despite the stupidity of that chimp and his band of laughing hyenas!

That said, there's still a little good and I'm encouraged that a few responsible Republicans over there have already complained to the proper authorities.

Meanwhile 10,000 troops killed, wounded and injured! Thank you Freepers.

Toll on U.S. troops in Iraq grows as wounded rolls approach 10,000
BY ROGER ROY
The Orlando Sentinel

ORLANDO, Fla. - (KRT) - Nearly 10,000 U.S. troops have been killed, wounded, injured or become ill enough to require evacuation from Iraq since the war began, the equivalent of almost one Army division, according to the Pentagon.

Unlike the more than 2,800 American fighting men and women logged by the Defense Department as killed and wounded by weapons in Iraq, the numbers of injured and sick have been more difficult to track, leading critics to accuse the military of under-reporting casualty numbers.

Military officials deny they are fudging the numbers. But the latest figures show that 9,675 U.S. troops have been killed, wounded, injured such as in accidents, or become sick enough to require airlifting out of Iraq.

<snip>

The number of sick and injured is almost certainly substantially higher, because the figures provided by the military last week include totals only through Oct. 30.

Thank you Bushistas for the wars, the devastation and the absolute evil you helped unleash on this world and on our own! The first flag this retired vet ever burns will be for you.

42. here are the facts
Edited on Mon Dec-01-03 01:41 AM by grasswire
The freeper posted the info about 7:30 a.m. pacific standard time leaking Bush's location. This long-time freeper is assigned to Baghdad airport.

Other freepers mocked the info, but shortly after 8 a.m. PST, the thread was pulled and held in limbo.

Shortly after 9 a.m., after Bush was in the air returning home, the thread was restored. The freeper made a couple of other posts, including the one stating that Bush arrived in a Gulfstream, not on AF1.

Yesterday, I tipped off American Politics Journal to this security breach, and they have been running the headline and link since then. I also posted the info in several threads on DU.

It is serious. If al Queda had been monitoring freerepublic, Bush's location was exposed to them. He had to fly out to get out. He was exposed, despite unprecedented personal security.

Why didn't the base secure internet connections? All this other subterfuge and a GI blows his location wide open.
