Bush Quote of the day ("an extraordinary indictment of past U.S. policy")
In an extraordinary indictment of past U.S. policy, Bush said "sixty years of Western nations excusing and accommodating the lack of freedom in the Middle East did nothing to make us safe, because in the long run stability cannot be purchased at the expense of liberty."

11. I think
what he meant was that we sought stability by depriving people of their liberty (Shah of Iran? Saudi royal family? And who was that guy Shrub's daddy sold weapons of mass destruction too?)

13. They were trying for a Karl Hess 'ExtremismLibertyViceModeration' moment,
but it falls way short.

If someone explained to him that he was excoriating Raygun and his daddy, he might reconsider this perfidy.
