Future President Wesley Clark has new TV Ad
https://secure.clark04.com/indexVideo.php

The first, longer, ad ("Responsibility") I like quite a bit. This new one ("Independence") is an abbreviation of the first. I'm not so pleased with it: if you've got 30 seconds you've got to pack more of a punch.

But, on the other hand, this is for voters being introduced to the soldier-scholar, not for his online devotees. So maybe it's alright.

Were I crafting these ads, I'd unabashedly appeal to "electability." For instance--Que narrator: "We cannot take another term of George Bush. We cannot cut it close, and let the Republicans steal another election. We need a landslide to change this nation: Wesley Clark is the Democrat who can appeal to all Americans deliver the White House. For victory in 2004, vote Wesley Clark."

3. I agree that the 1st ad is better
The 60 second spots are naturally better because you can put more in them, but they are also more expensive.

I think what they are primarily going for is to drive up name recognition. And you can't really get a whole lot of information through on longer ads, either.

4. Efffective for a short intro Bio Ad
He will need to follow that one up with something more pointed. But this ad shows him as a very solid, talented and experienced leader. Not bad for 30 seconds.
