This is how it should be done. We have raised $30,000 just today for Rep. Boswell. The GOP is going after him, and every candidate should call on their supporters to help those being attacked in every state.

In a letter to Dean supporters today, Joe Trippi called on the grassroots to show the power of the movement you've built by helping to re-elect Leonard Boswell, the lone Democrat in Iowa's Congressional delegation and a top target of Karl Rove and the Republican National Committee.

The Boswell campaign informs us that as of midnight Dean supporters have raised over $30,000 for the campaign. Keep spreading the word that the campaign you have built plans to take back the Congress when we elect Howard Dean next year.

Thank you all. This is one of the most exciting projects I have ever seen! I am honored to be a part of this electrifying event. An event that I am sure Karl Rove is paying attention to.

Your campaign is doing some incredible things in my state and all across America, the largest of which is bringing a lot of new folks into the political fold. Folks, like myself, who are very excited about the opportunity to elect a new President, folks who are excited to tell Karl Rove what the real voice of the American people is saying, folks who are ready to do all it takes to get real leadership.

We need to get America back on track for the people whose savings are being whittled down because of this faltering economy, for the people who are tired of worrying about their kids safety, for the people who are looking for their voices to be heard.

It is time for a change in Washington. It is time for leadership that reflects all of America and not just the lobbyists in Washington. This campaign is about fighting for the values and beliefs we hold so dear. This is a fight we must win! We are working to take back our government and put it back in the hands of the people.

24. Let me tell you about the flame-fights

You may not believe this, but you will grow a very thick skin. A little earlier this evening I was reading an old thread in which I got a LOT of flaming. Terrible, ugly stuff. It didn't bother me at all. I sat there reading it and thought to myself: wow, this kind of thing used to just tear me up. It's not even furrowing my brow now. My how I've changed.

I'll warn you: it takes a while (months? years? everyone's different). But you'll get there. The trick is, no matter what, don't give up. Keep getting back on that horse.
