DU Challenge: A pie a day for Ralph...
Edited on Wed Dec-03-03 10:01 AM by Patriot_Spear
I've really had it with Ralph Nader.

As a Progressive, I cannot help but stand amazed that the man would willing be a accomplice in helping George Bush* steal another election.

To that end, I am hereby publicly committing myself to personally 'delivering' a pie to Ralph should he come to my area while campaigning. He may not 'get' the message, but he'll definately know how we feel.

I challenge and encourage all good Democrats here on DU to join me in this effort.

6. This is just silly.
And I think you're silly for blaming others for the Democratic Party's shortcomings. Nader may be a cranky old bastard, but there's no need to prosecute him for the crime of democracy.

9. Whatever you say, pal.
Instead of wasting your time with stunts, maybe you should busy yourself with something more substantive.

14. It's my time to waste,sport...
How long could it take, really?

5 mintues to make the pie- 10 seconds to deliver it. Ralph deserves much worse.

10. I think the Nader/Anti-Nader flame wars...
...are now often the work of provocateurs and disruptors.

Not all of them, but I see so many who do nothing but try to fan the flames, over and over and over. I have no other explanation for these pointless, day after day after day of liberal-bashing threads here on DU.

Nader is so not-relevent, who the hell cares about him anymore? The Green Party doesn't hardly even deal with him anymore -- that's why he's talking about running as an independent.

People here are so easy to distract it's not even funny...Ohhh, wait -- there's something shiny in my trash! I gotta go!

27. How about a pie in the face for DUers who want to limit our choice....
...to G.W. Bush and whatever corporatist the Democrats throw up.

Most progressives can get away with voting third party without harming the Democratic Party candidate. Those of us who live in states that are a "sure win" for either party should have the option to choose ANY candididate we want without all this constant crying about the "spoiler" effect.

The anti-Nader folks and the Green bashers at DU are nothing more than Democrats who despise democracy.

13. Question: how old are you?
- Seems to me a 'good' Democrat would spend more time fighting Bush* than some third party hack who might not even run.

17. A pie a day for Republicans
Yes, I could go for that.

A pie a day for Republicans! Or how about one for the DINO Zell Miller?
Seeing as we have a Duopoly why don't we start throwing pies into the faces of Republicans and DINO's that would get the most media attention.

I've had it with the Republican hypocrites!!!!! They are the ones in control of 3 branches of government destroying us and cramming mighty hard for the judical!<---Going so far as to Steal records off of our Democratic Senators computers!

How about a pie for Senator Hatch?

18. Much less courageous then throwing one at Bush,
Cheney, Rumsfield, Powell, or Rice. But courage does seem to be something the Democratic party lacks lately (check out their voting records).

I have not, and would not, vote for Nader but your suggestion does seem cowardly to me. But I guess I am not a "good" Democrat.

25. Now you take the snide route
and completely avoid the issue.

Have fun with your silly idea that will never happen. And after the election write me a PM with links to articles about you throwing pies at Nader and how your "direct action" changed the USA--or benefited anything other then your ego.

26. Aaah the good ole' Nader haters!
Taking the Democrats out of Democracy once again.

Here you are, you're going to punish a man for excercising his Constitutional right to run for any office he wishes to, and yet you are giving a pass to Gore, the man who forsaked his sworn oath to uphold the Constitution when he sat on the voter disenfranchisement story that was handed to him on a silver platter.

Real intelligent, real mature:eyes:

If you hate democracy so much, why don't you move to a country where they don't practice it? Then you wouldn't have to worry your little head about those pesky Greens or other third party candidates running. You would just have your leader selected for you.
