Today's Daily Show, arggg.... brutal
First John Stewart said that they're busy covering the Democrats "fighting for the chance to lose to Bush next year" and then they had an interview between Steve Colbair and Bob Graham where Steve just tore apart Graham (Basically made fun of him, very patronizing).

Yuck

1. Could you go into some more detail please?
I don't get cable where I'm at tonite, I like Jon, but I'm really getting sick of that "Race from the White House" bit.

2. The Daily Show is Hilarious, But...
Why on earth would anyone agree to be interviewed by Colbert or the rest of them? Because you're not going to look very good after the editing room. Handlers, anyone?

7. That was lifted from Bill Maher (from several years ago)
Is the world completely upsidedown now? Stewart stealing from Maher???!!!

5. I was a bit disappointed in Jon's line...
"fighting for the chance to lose to Bush next year"

...and isn't Colmes allowed to go anywhere without Sean?

6. I did like Jon's line in answer to Sean Insanity.
Insanity spewed the current talking point about how Iraq invasion was justified by mass graves and horrible dictator ect. Jon immediately responded "But then we'll have to invade Africa and N. Korea. We'll run out of National Guardsmen."

10. I thought that little exchange
demonstrated to all (especially blowhard Hannity) that Jon is vastly superior to him and can squash him like a bug with little effort.

9. What's the big deal about the Daily Show?
It's a comedy show, folks. They make fun of news and politicians. It is not a spin-off from Gore's Liberal Network.

As you may also have noticed in today's show, Stewart is very reluctant to give his personal opinion on any issue.

I am getting tired of these daily Daily Show analyses. It is _not_ a political program. Just enjoy the show. I am sure Graham did.

11. I thought Graham was playing along quite well too
Especially when he was "interviewing" Colbert.

13. Jon Did Give His Personal View

My observations -

Colmes is not allowed to go out without Hannity. Colmes was there to promote his book -- but nothing was said about it but the title. Meanwhile, Hannity got to pitch his new book coming out in February.

Hannity dresses like a prep school boy (chinos, tassel loafers, sport coat) - which cracks me up when you consider he is trying to be like the ordinary country western person from Utah or Mississippi.

Jon went easy on them. Not much time, Hannity spoke more than Colmes.
The best part was when the audience roared in applause in response to Jon's line and Hannity looked around and put up his hands (he has not been too many places where people don't agree with him -- ie in public).

I think there will be a scandal involving a relationship between Hannity and Laura Ingraham. Okay, not part of the show but when I listen to them on RW radio (keeps me awake when driving late at night) she glows about him and he glows about her - they appear on weekends together at different malls and parking lots.
