Identifying sponsors of a show ?
There is a nauseating right wing talk show here that is on the TV as well as the radio. I would like to find out who the sponsors are so I can boycott them and spread the word to others. Is there a way to find out who the sponsors are without having to actually watch the thing?

1. Try contacting the station ...
I wuld think they would have a listing of the commercials. Or just videotape the show and skip to the comercials.

2. idea
I used to work at a radio station and there is a function called "continuity." This is the job title of the person who puts the ads in the station breaks. Perhaps you could call and ask to speak to the continuity director and tell this person you want to make a special point to patronize the sponsors (you'd be lying here). At that point, ask if there is a way you can get a summary of this someplace online.

Cher

p.s. it's been many years since I've worked in radio so maybe someone else will come along with a better idea. I know we do have radio people on this board

3. I know that one of the big sponsors
is a car dealership here. A few months ago I got a letter inviting me to a sale at their dealership. I wrote back and said while I was in the market for a car I could not patronize a store that sponsored that show. I just looked at the website. They have a few restaurants that offer a coupon and I haven't heard of any of them. I guess the big ones know better. I have been thinking about calling the continuity person but I am not sure if I could actually do it without gagging or laughing!
