NEW VIDEO - "Freedom: Stop Asking For It" - unbelievably patriotic.
http://www.terminalproduct.com/freedomstop.rm

while trying to come up with something for that moveon.org contest, I improvised lots of silly things with some friends. Here's one of the ones that should've ended up on the cutting room floor, but somehow got on your hard drive instead... with a bit of THEY LIVE thing going on.

Realvideo, 49 seconds, grainy, pseudo-colorful.

Sad thing is, there are probably dozens of these on a shelf.

ALLOW ME TO PASS THE SAVINGS ON TO YOU - for a more secure Homeland.

2. yep, a much better one. far sicker.
The ones that didn't make it are kinda fun, though. We did this hysterical series of 1950s Civil Defense-type shorts about duct tape, surviving Armageddon, protecting your canned goods, defending against commie terrorist mutants, etc.

5. I had trouble
getting anything done that didn't use copyrighted material. I uploaded them anyway. Even if they can't win and/or can't be aired, people will still get to see them. How do us commoners get permission to use video clips and photos of shrub? It's impossible, considering the context.

I'm afraid one of my ads, "Bush plays darts" might prompt Ashcroft to send the gestapo. It consists of Bush throwing darts with fins that read "lie" at a picture of himself tacked to a dart board. I'm probably safe since I'm not the one throwing the darts. Right?

6. ha! we did a similar thing with a dartboard around thanksgiving

I also agonized about crossing the line and having SS "visit".

But the ridiculous Bush-puppet-baby with flag-diaper came out soooo good. Its too sick for the moveon thing, so I'm gonna stick it in "THE PARANOIA SHOW" DVD.

As far as copyright goes, I think anything the WH puts out is public domain.

13. I remember during the Watergate thing...
...somebody was selling a dartboard with Dick in the center and his staff surrounding him. It was on at least one of the evening news shows, as I recall.

There, I have fulfilled my contractual obligations to mention Johnny's bleating. Don't blame me if it causes a seizure.

4. NOTE: absolutely no Dick Cheney.
And when I say there is no Dick Cheney, I mean - there is a certain AMOUNT of Dick Cheney.

18. a question from the obnoxious auteur himself...
Edited on Fri Dec-05-03 12:42 AM by thebigidea
say, does this get all choppy-like on full screen for any one else? Realvideo is such crap, but for some reason my mpeg encoding keeps crashing. I'm too hypnotized by the sound of Alan Colmes to do anything about it.

20. Please get mp3 working.
I was impressed by one of your earlier (cheney-dick) productions. I reinstalled realplayer crap, viewed it and cheered, and then foolishly said yes to a realplayer upgrade which totally trashed my OS. Mp3 is a universally accesible format and far less evil than mp3. I personally am VERY reluctant to go through the realplayer=KillYourOS routine yet again. But for those who now have realplayer running, thenigidea does good work.

For myself, I hope you are able to get mp3 encoding working soon! Maybe something here will help:

currently hacking and coughing after emerging from yet ANOTHER hard drive meltdown. Reinstall this, reinstall that. Aghghhghg, the basement-assembled computers can be pretty fickle.

"But for those who now have realplayer running, thenigidea does good work."

tonight on Delightful Dyslexia Playhouse...

RealPlayer truly is the WORK OF THE DEVIL. With a cartoon tail.

23. Hah! Sometime close is not close enough
"tonight on Delightful Dyslexia Playhouse..."
This 110 button mouse that is called a keyboard is almost as troublesome to me, but not nearly as lethal, as realplayer. I hope the link helps you get your work more widely accesssible.

24. ah ha!
well, the link was for mp3 schtuff - the audio format... I have lotsa stuff in mp3 on the site... mpeg is the video one, I have the software for it - but it keeps crashing due to some driver malfunction or another. Or I'll just blame JOHN ASHCROFT. I will have the mpeg working by friday, due to the deadline for that moveon.org contest g and my intention to frighten their judges.
