RUSH L to convert?
Remember, a liberal is a conservative who has been arrested. Already RUSH L is sounding more and more liberal....bitching and moaning about the 'rights' of the drug addict. How long before his core audience is either driven away by his 'bleeding heart' approach to drug taking hypocrites, or is converted to creeping liberalism by RUSH L's continuing conversion through fire by trial.....

4. He'll never change, except for the worse.
He has a $24 million dollar mansion, and will see a day in jail about the same time Kenneth Lay does. All of the wishful thinkers here who felt sorry for him or think he will change are blowing smoke. If anything, he is going to get worse (if that is possible). 2004 is almost upon us, and he is important to the Bush "re-election" efforts. He will do as he is told, occasionally disagreeing with Bush so as to keep his "credibility" with his listeners, and hammer away at the right to dissent. If he becomes a liability, they will jettison him. Maybe permanently, if you get my drift.

8. agreed...
Inside of 6 months, he'll be just like Bill Bennett, spewing his
same old schtick as if nothing happened and in true Orwellian
fashion pretending it was just a libbrul plot, all in the past.
In 6 months he'll be spewing on and on about how the drug
war is 'too lenient'.

Nothing short of a Democratic DA, with stone cold evidence,
and a weeping confession on video from that fat f*ck will
get him to change OR get his dittomonkeys to see what a
flaming, contradictory HYPOCRITE he is.

6. Rush is Moaning About Rush
His rights, his circumstances. No one else. No empathy for anyone else.

A 1997 Margaret Carlson piece opened my eyes on this subject.

When Conservatives face adversity, they convert for their own particular circumstance (Carlson called it a one to one conversion). They cannot apply that new found awareness or enlightment to the population as a whole. In other words - no empathy for another.

For example, Carlson cited

- Senator Pete Domenici, (daughter was mentally ill) -- so this budget hawk amended the Kennedy-Kassebaum health-care bill to cover such afflictions - cost lots of money. No money for anyone else though.
-- Former Senator Al D'Amato, supported gays in the military - why? - his top political strategist was gay.
-- Former Senator Mike DeWine of Ohio, (daughter killed in a 1993 auto accident), opposed repeal of the federal 55-m.p.h. speed limit in 1996.
--- my personal favorite - columnist George Will (hates entitlements of all kinds) -- writes movingly in support of government programs that help his son, who has Down syndrome.
- Laura Ingraham, whose brother was gay and his partner died of AIDS - now supports gay rights and AIDS funding - opposes discrimination against gays.

So until they face the precise issue personally - no caring. Carlson says "by that standard what would it take for a conservative to embrace expanded health insurance--a sister unable to get cancer treatment?"

I don't expect Rush to be any different.

13. I believe the word is "Sociopath"
"When Conservatives face adversity, they convert for their own particular circumstance (Carlson called it a one to
one conversion). They cannot apply that new found awareness or enlightment to the population as a whole. In
other words - no empathy for another."

Not to mention narcissism.

But, that's what's "in" in this nation now.

Thanks for your quotes.

15. Good story. Here's the link to Carlson
Shorter than I thought, and better then you suggested. Amazing how vicious she was before her personal "enlightenment".

16. Margaret is right about that..........
first time for her. But nothing EVER applies to Cons. They have their own little planet on which they reside. Nothing, I repeat, nothing applies to them. Don't ever expect rush to change. He never will. Cause he doesn't see this in himself. He's delusional. His first 2 weeks back were the "honeymoon" phase. Honeymoon is over. The REAL rush is back. The drug addict rush. And yes rush, you ARE a drug addict. Just like those poor souls you chastised so badly before on your "show". The poor souls that you would've just as soon walk over rather than to lend a helping hand. In fact, you're worse. You were given every advantage a person could be given and you STILL ended up nothing more that a strung out junkie. You my friend are much worse than those souls you disparage so frequently on your show. A show you will not have much longer. Because in the end, you are a loser.

7. But what if he put his flaming tongue to work and revealed all the
lies of the VRWC....

What if he became a huge ally to the Left....

That would be weird....but it would likely be helpful.

18. Except nobody would pay him $20MM+ million a year to tell the truth.
You only make the big bucks lying to people in the broadcast media.

And your conscience has to be reversely proportional to the size of your paycheck.

I'm convinced that his pinprick of a conscience must have been pretty painful, though, considerng his need to take 50+ Oxycontin pills a day to dull it.

He giveS 'em what they want to hear. He the ringmaster in a circus. The same mentality keeps Vince McMahon of the World Wrestling Federation in luxury.

Rush doesn't have to rely on pay-per-view to get rich.

14. They will never give up on him, they need him
His followers will never stop supporting him. They know that his voice has to be out there for them to win. He could kill someone and it wouldn`t matter. Also if and that is a big if, the station fires him, he would be financed and back on the air the next day by Mellon Scafie or Rupert Murdock. Hell, Cheney would do it himself. That is how important to them old limpballs is.
