Want to get angry? Read this:
It came from here and regards his 'big idea' of going to the moon:

"One person who has been consulted by the White House said some aides appear to relish the idea of a “Kennedy moment” for Bush, referring to the 1962 call by President John F. Kennedy for the nation to land a man on the moon and return him safely to Earth by the end of the decade."

He's an empty skin filled with nothingness.

1. A Kennedy moment?! - More like a hitler moment.
Edited on Sat Dec-06-03 04:18 AM by nu_duer
A fraudulent and unprovoked attack on another nation, tens of thousands dead, probably hundreds of thousands maimed, stoking irrational fear and hatred in the fatherland, er, homeland - all the while brazenly threatening other nations with pre-emptive invasion - and he's looking for a Kennedy moment?

Excuse me, mr. awol oil-pig. I never met John Kennedy, I was born the year he was killed, so I never lived under John Kennedy, but I know this much, you are no John Kennedy.

2. A Moving Target Is Harder To Hit
This "inititative" keeps the ball rolling. It is comedy in its lowest form but it works.

The GOP is not going to wait for the opposition to seize on the sleaze issues. By remaining active and coming up with 'new' promises the GOP hopes to keep center stage. Any Democratic Party's response will look like petty reactionaryism.

Don't let the people be distracted. Keep hammering home the broken promises of this administration in education and other domestic issues.

The people may be frustrated enough. They may be fed-up with the policies of grief, greed and graft. The people will vote for the Democratic Party when given a real choice.

Remain positive! These people are on their way out.

14. from a space exploration/science standpoint
Going back to the moon makes a lot of sense. The other planets are too far away for our current technology. New moon missions would be a big help in developing robots to explore planets and developing construction techniques.

But Bush is exploring it for the wrong reasons, and we can't afford it now anyway.

an energy policy that challenged america to become less dependant on fossil fuels within a decade or 2 would have been more inlign with the reality of his time.

9. unfortunately
misadministration already spent all the money for the next dozen or so years; rockets don't go very far on hot air.

Dems just need to point out that deficits as far as the eye can see make Bush* rhetoric nothing more than hot air, and if they really think there is money for their pipe dreams it ought to berouted to Bush*'s prior unfunded policy plans, like NCLB.

11. Duh! Just another photo-op moment
And now there's the Reagan dime.

Why these distractions?

Because they're setting us up to be against popular things.

"You must hate Reagan if you don't want him on the dime"

"How could you NOT want to go to the moon?"

It's all 100% bullshit, part of their propaganda.

I say let's shoot Reagan to the moon and combine two GOP distractions into one.

16. "President Bush’s aides are considering..."
Isn't it just surreal the way people talk about Bush's aides deciding issues and setting the agenda, rather than Bush himself? That is a scandal in itself, but there's this widespread acceptance of Bush's intellectual laziness. Even his supporters talk about the credentials of his cabinet, and how great leaders consult experts.

It's like the Reagan presiency, but nobody even bothers to hide it. People just accept it. It's so strange.
