8. US Meddling in the Caspian
I wonder if this has anything to do with Powells's Caspian activities...

Russian Ambassador: We Will Not Allow US Presence in Caspian

Attempts by the countries not related to the Caspian region to replace their troops in the region will lead to tension in the region, Nikolay Ryabov, Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan told journalists on Friday.

According to the Ambassador, there is no necessity, but US will in it. "The littoral countries themselves should ensure security in the Casðian without US intervention, which try to enter the region located in thousand kilometers of their borders," said Ryabov, stressing that the US would be present in the region. "We will not allow it."

General Charles "Chuck" Wald, Deputy Commander of the Headquarters of the U.S. European Command, stated in Baku late in November that the United States intends to launch implementing the project related to security in the Caspian region in January 2004.

Wald said the project to be realized in the Azerbaijani section of the Caspian would enable to control over under and above water areas, while information obtained would be immediately passed to the military leadership.

5. I was thinking about him when they re-dug up Baker.
Powell is gone until they need some blqck votes and Baker is going to pull Bush's buns out of the fire as he has done for the Bushies for 40 years.

6. You're right. Things have been pretty quiet
around Colon Bowel and Condo-liar. What's the deal? For a while they were hitting up the Sunday morning talk show circuit, blabbing away like used car salesmen.

Last I heard, Conda-loser was supposed to be taking over the Iraq Phase 2 (meaning: get us outta this mess, please).

That is, remain virtually invisible until summons to publicly defend the indefensible. They are nothing more than two second-class passengers on the sinking * ship of fools!
