Wait A Minute - Gore Hasn't Endorsed Anyone ....
.... to the best of my knowledge Gore hasn't endorsed anyone, or he has I haven't seen it. Where, When, What event was taking place? What did he say, because any endorsement from him is certainly going to come with an explaination of why he chose who he did. Where is it?

Of course the alternative is that this is just some shitball rumor.

Thom

1. It was leaked
It was supposed to be formally announced tomorrow, but it leaked, according to NBC embed.

6. Which means... celebrate with an eye on 'Oops' if it turns out false.
But the combination of Paul Simon and Al Gore backing Dean is powerful in my book.

25. interesting
he has NOT endorsed ANYONE yet.

If the RUMOR is true... it smaks of ANOTHER GORE SELL OUT.

Remember he's the one that said "naw, it's ok if all the votes aren't counted", "naw, it's ok if you keep 90,00 black democrats from voting by illegal voter purging", "naw, it's ok to count absentee ballots that were post marked 3 months after the deadline if they come from overseas military... even if they already voted once", "naw it's ok if supreme court justices with supreme conflicts of interest are allowed to cast the deciding votes", "naw, its ok if Katerine Harris is Bush's campaign manager AND head of the Fl elections board"... it's ok... The People don't need to Elect a president... that's what political parties and the media is for... (yeah, I'm Pissed)

Dean would not be the choice of the man that gave those 2 Move-On speeches. But maybe those speeches were all part of the game to convince Voters that Dean is Kucinich.... Because when Voters realize that Kucinich is Kucinich and not Dean... those that aren't completely dissenfranchised will feel rightfully sold out AGAIN by the DUMBocratic Party.

Party leaders have been selling US dean on a stick for a year now. The same sellouts that allowed the "other" party to steal the White House.

.... It's a shame I was just about to forgive Gore for that... because of those great speeches he gave... boy, if this is true... I've been suckered again ...

7. I don't think any of the formerly elected should endorse anyone until
after the first round of primaries. I don't think
it is respectful or fair to the candidates who have
sweated this far nor to their supporters.

Endorsed somebody? What's wrong with that?

Man, all you folks went on and on and ON about poor old Al Gore when the Dem/Green threads have come up over the last few years, yet now, all of the sudden, Gore is some misfit??

She said "disappointed", not "I am filled with seething rage and thoughts of venegance against that great traitor for making a doodyheaded choice!"

Just disappointment.

We people who voted for, and supported Gore, at least recognize he is a fallible human being, and capable of making bad choices. We will call him on them when he does - unlike Deanbots, who think the man can do no wrong and died for our political sins. Dean could drop out and concede to Bush and they would put a happy spin on it, and that is not much of an exaggeration.

26. yeah, but most of what's happening today is people who don't like Dean...
transferring that hatred to Gore, which I find HIGHLY ironic

You didn't think anybody mainstream would endorse Kucinich, did ya?

This just applies to former vice presidents who got beat out of office by thuggery, or does it extend to all elected officials?

Too many people are responding with bitterness since this wasn't an endorsement of their candidate. You've shown real class in your responses and are serving your candidate very well. Thanks again.

14. Consolidation or Civil War
<http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A46521-2003Dec8.html>

I think this endorsement will be big for Dean but I don't think this is going to be on par with the kissing the Godfather's signet ring effect that some believe it will.

If anything, this could be the start of the real civil war for control of the party...if the Clintons do back Wes Clark. If not, this could be the beginning of the consolidation of the field.

Regardless of what happens, I think it's safe to say Lieberman is done.

16. doesn`t matter anymore
if you repeat something over and over ,doesn`t it become the truth? well if gore endorses dean then i guess we don`t have to worry about anyone else running for president.
i guess the rnc is right-they are all dean now- deans "their man". they have the plan all made out to counter him.

No doubt his right-hand staffer talked in order to drum up interest tomorrow (and later in the week in Iowa). It does take time to set up satellite trucks and shit.

20. Gore is positioning himself for 2008 obviously.
He knows that "Mean" Dean has no chance, and is positioning himself as the Democrats' savior in '08. Gore is our Nixon.

30. And some of us just want to see Bush out of office
If Clark, Kerry, Kucinich, etc., win the nomination, I'll work my ass off for them just as hard as I work my ass off for Dean. We're Democrats. Can't we just be happy for one another when one of the candidates has a success? Why is that such a difficult concept? Anything else is juvenile.
