From a non-Dean supporter to All DEAN supporters: CONGRATULATIONS |
|
I'm still rooting for Kerry (or Clark), but I see no reason to get negative and defensive or take it so personally. We're all Democrats here, and there's no reason not to congratulate a candidate when he's earned something.
Dean supporters, I congratulate you and, especially you're candidate. He's not my top pick, but I will be a very enthusiastic supporter come March if he is the nominee (Hell, I've even looked up Dean buttons online to pick out which one I like best :) ). I AM still gunning for Kerry or Clark (who's actually tied w/ Dean for 2nd in my rankings), and we'll wait and see who wins when the votes are counted. But nobody can deny that your candidate has run and exceptionally strong campaign and that the enthusiasm he inspires is what is so great abt democracy.
Congrats again to Dean and his supporters. You've all earned it. :)

2. Dean still has to win on his own merits...Gore is not running. |
|
So, although it may give him more credibility, I doubt that it will change a lot of people minds, one way or another. If Dean goes on to lose the nomination, I hope no one blames it on Gore.:)

7. I'm a Dean and Clark supporter. |
|
I've watched both of them and they've got a spark that I don't see in the others. I'm amazed that Gore is supporting anyone this early so I've got to give him credit for being willing to take a bold step.

8. you show a lot of class... kudos to you! |
|
I know a lot of people who don't like Dean are probably crying now, but I'm glad to see that there are some who still believe in the greater good of beating Bush.
Dean is my number one with Clark a close second... then maybe Edwards... and I will support whoever wins the nomination, because I'm keeping my eye on the prize in DC.

that shows class and I, for one, needed that. Came home and opened up one of the Gore endorsement threads and couldn't believe the vitriolic posts. Are we sure we're ALL Democrats? Good goddess!

There was plenty of admiration from this Deanie towards Kerry when he picked up Joe Wilson's endorsement. Really, we should celebrate any of these things that advance any democrat.

the freepers are all over the map on this... everything from glee, to oddball theories that this is an effort by gore to attack the clintons, to this being the kiss of death for the dean campaign (apparently, Gore is going to destroy the Dean campaign from the inside)...
generally speaking, if you kick the freeper anthill and make em freak out like that, you've done a good thing - so full points to Dean. This will help him a lot in his efforts to become the dem nominee.

20. I second the Congratulations...... |
|
The Gore endorsement is important, but I don't believe it will sway the voting in the South in the least. If Dean wins the nomination, I'll support him heart and soul, but the Gore endorsement has swayed me to support Wesley Clark even more now since me as a southerner feel Gore abandoned us when he didn't seek the nomination himself.
Congratulations are in order to all Dean supporters however, because you've worked so hard for it.

let's keep in mind that no matter how many endorsments, or from whom, votes have yet to be cast, and this is NOT sewn up yet. I do appreciate your kind words, especially after reading all the hate-filled ones on this topic.

This is a serious endorsement and I wish Dean well. That said, there's still a few votes to be cast before the convention.

(IF Dean wins)
Lets have Clark as Vice Pres Kerry as Defense Sec, Edwards as Attorney General
Now THAT has a nice ring to it.
