Check in for candidate supporter truce and pledge of Dignity.

First off some of the complaints about people acting like * supporters might have some truth to it; caution these disturb stances might be coming from those Gun forum people (check the DU is being attacked post).

Need I remind DU that our uniform goal is to get ride of * in 2004. So if we are going to debate the resumes and credentials of our candidates lets do it in a dignified manner! Remember that old saying people with strong arguments attack the issue (facts) people with weak arguments attack the person.

Who ever you support you will not win over another person with arrogance, self-righteousness and insults. Please guys lets be kind to each other, no one likes to be on the defensive. I support Howard DEAN and when I try to convince people to support him, I approach it like a friend who cares and listens, not like a know it all trying to prove their wrong. We all are taking different roads and paths to get to the same destination here, slow down to let that other car merge in your lane, who knows they might thank you later.

A ZEN story of close- mindedness and arrogance

It tells of a Zen master who received a university professor who had to come to inquire about Zen.

It was obvious to the master from the start of the conversation that the professor was not so much interested in learning about Zen as he was in impressing the master with his own opinions and knowledge. As the Zen teacher explained, the learned man would frequently interrupt him with remarks like “ o, yes, we have that, too” and so on.

Finally, the Zen teacher stopped talking and began to serve tea to the learned man. He poured the cup full, and then he kept poring until the cup over flowed.

“Enough!” the learned man ounce more interrupted. “Like this cup, you are full of your own opinions and speculations. If you do not first empty your cup, how can you taste my cup of tea?”

3. checking in
I completely agree. It's been said over and over: if our preferred candidate does not get the nomination, we will end up working for another candidate to win the election. So let's all be civil!

I promised months ago to not criticize any announced Dem hopeful. It's been a hard promise to keep, and I did slip once, when one of them really pissed me off, but I promise again here.
