3. NONE of the Above
Gore thinks Dean has it locked. He wants to get out in front, the better to seem like a leader. I don't exactly trust Al Gore, y'know.

10. NONE of the above
but I really don't think thats the reason.

This COULD be intended to:
a. sink Clark because the rank and file are too rankled and its
hurting the congressional landscape
b. sink Dean because Clark did not take over as intended
c. sink Clark because thats who Bill likes and that prick nailed
me all for a hummer after 8 years paying my dues
d. sink Clark, and Dean with one fell swoop so that one of the
DLC/DNC family gets the nod
e. he was bored and there was nothing on the schedule the rest of
the week
f. cause Terry told him to and he is a good soldier
g cause Bill told him to and he is a good soldier
h. cause that prick managed with one "f*^k" to wow the youth vote
i. it makes the phone ring
j. he and Tipper got ripped on BUD and it just slipped out
k. yyyes KKKarl Iiii uuunderssstand ppperfectllly sssir
l. the sheer hell of it

or there are probably other reasons I haven't even thought of

6. Other, he did it to unify the party
His endorsement will help narrow the field and reduce the chances of a long primary fight. I don't agree with his choice, but I think that is why he did it.

8. He's really endorsing the Move-on concept more than the candidate
Al can inherit these voters in 2008.

16. Al Gore has never given me any reason to impugn his motives.
As connected as he may be to the old boy political establishment, he has always rejected shallow self interest in favor of the best interest of his country.

19. You've all missed the point
Al just mailed his resume to Dean with the endorsement. Think about that, and think about a Dean/Gore ticket. LOTS of folks would be very comfortable with that.

undermine the party base...but at this point it is just a guess.

23. Dream ticket
Gore could do 8 under Dean, and then run again for prez.
Maybe he is simply seeking a plain Dem.

Perhaps he could be content being a VP again, and then retiring, but any way he is involved, he brings an awful lot of very powerful support to Dean's camp.
