Will any candidates will drop out before the primaries?
Edited on Tue Dec-09-03 12:20 AM by WillyBrandt
And if so, who?

I ask because, as a distressed Clarkie, I have my doubts whether the General can win in such a divided field. Were it a simple Dean/Clark matchup, I'd give Clark at least even odds, but with the vote splintered among nine candidates, I worry.

So who to drop out?

I'd like to say Lieberman, but my senator is a stubborn pain in the ass. Still, I hold hope that he sees that his efforts are futile.

CMB's campaign seems suddenty ridiculous in the wake of the news regarding Gore's endorsement of Dean.

I see Gephardt sticking. He's been building up a tiny bit of momentum.

Kerry likewise, at least for the time being. He has no momentum, but he has some money.

Edwards perhaps? Kucinich, at long last?

I think the Gore endorsement will kill his hopes

5. I'm thinking about this--perhaps you're right
With Lieberman it takes on a personal edge not present with any other candidate. Moreoever, anyone can see that Lieberman has no momentum. No one at all is excited about his candidacy.

Clark is eating into one of his few constitutencies (Jewish retirement communities!)

Still, I always imagine Lieberman doing the wrong thing, I have a sort of negative faith that he'll be stubborn for stuborness' sake.

2. Kucinich at long last?
And you have FDR as your icon?

Kucinich is in it for the long haul.

3. If I voted my heart, I'd vote Kucinich.
But he won't win the nomination. Not a chance in hell. Moreover, it's not clear how much more of a statement he can make at this point.
