A soldier "killed every day" in Iraq? How badly has the press been lying?
By complete accident I stumbled onto this disturbing bit of information. Its from a CNN feature called "Campus Vibe" that reports on college sentiment regarding the 2004 election.

A student at Portland Community College named Dave Berg claims to have a friend just returned from service in Iraq. According to Mr. Berg, his friend told him that "someone got killed there every day".

At the risk of pushing heresay, what if this is true? Wouldn't that push the actual US death toll radically higher than it's being reported? If true, is the press complicit in this or are they just lazily gobbling up disinformation manufactured by the Uncle Sam Baloney Distribution Center?

Here is the story

1. Not really
I think it's a general average. We've been there about 200 or so days and have had 450 or so killed, so that is 2.25 a day.

2. It's already quite a bit higher than one a day
The last number I heard was about 444 - 454 (it changes almost every day, of course).

That makes well over 1 per day, even using the official counts.

4. THE SCORE IN THE BOTTOM OF THE FIRST
Before their war was won = 138. After their mission accomplished = 312 more, Total young land of the free and home of the brave heroes just following orders = 450 not counting dying among 2,574 wounded.). Iraqi men, women, and children evil doers massacred = 9,766. Those seeking vengeance for sake of family and invaded homeland honor = most. Years for Viet Cong to come together = several. Time for Iraqi resistance to build = damned near immediate. Have a nice day.:)
