Kathleen Sullivan, NH Dem party head on Gore's endorsement of Dean
This is from the transcript of the LIVE online discussion just completed from the Washington Post website.

http://discuss.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/zforum/03/sp_politics_sullivan121103.htm

Ormond Beach, Fla.: How do you think the voters of New Hampshire will react to Gore's annointment of Howard Dean as the Democratic nominee and his urging Democrats to unite behind Dean before the New Hampshire primary?

Kathy Sullivan: First of all I have a lot of respect and admiration for Al Gore. I think that his endorsement is a factor, not the only factor, that voters will look at. I think that people need to calm down about the Gore endorsement. It is not the end of the campaign for any candidate. It is not the end of the world. It is the opinion of one person - a very well respected person - but nevertheless just the opinion of one person.

3. another Sullivan Q & A
http://discuss.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/zforum/03/sp_politics_sullivan121103.htm

Louisville, Ky.: Howard Kurtz reports today that ABC has pulled back regular reporters for Kucinich, Sharpton and Moseley Braun. Is this unusual? If big-field races I can most vividly remember -- 1976 comes to mind -- involved minor candidates who nevertheless changed the dialogue by their presence. (Fred Harris: "The issue is privilige" again comes to mind.)

washingtonpost.com: Media Notes, (Dec. 11)

Kathy Sullivan: I am very disappointed in the efforts by ABC News to dictate who should or should not be a candidate for the presidency. If any of you watched the ABC debate this week it was pretty obvious that Koppel felt that he should have a voice in determining who should and should not be a candidate. However this is a democracy and it is up to the people to make the decision, not ABC News. I am a very small shareholder in Walt Disney and I am going to sending a letter to Michael Eisner expressing my disappointment. I don't know if you is going to be interested in my opinion or not, but I am going to express it.

7. Good for her.
What's odd is that Kucinich's voice would be muted exactly at the same time that people will start noticing that HE was the legitimate antiwar candidate.

5. Isn't that what most of us have been saying?
One person's opinion... no reason to tear down the party over it.
