Sans Diebold, is Bush electable against ANY Democrat? |
|
Edited on Thu Dec-11-03 06:00 PM by TruthIsAll
That's the question the media should be asking.
10 million unemployed (3.5 million by Bush) don't think so. Even those luck enough to find low-paying jobs won't forget the pain of the last 3 years. Millions who saw their 401ks decimated don't think so. They were kicked out of the market for good. Union workers losing their overtime don't think so. National Parks employees who see the trees being cut down and the streams polluted don't think so. Seniors dumping AARP don't think so. Families with sons and daughters getting shot at in Iraq don't think so. Families with sons and daughters getting sick from depleted uranium and anthrax shots in Iraq don't think so. Millions of blacks who saw their brothers and sisters disenfranchised don't think so. Millions of Muslims who see there neighbors suddenly missing don't think so. Millions of Jews who will always vote democratic don't think so. Millions of Native Americans who vote democratic don't think so. Millions of Hispanics who vote democratic don't think so. Most independents who will look at the Bush record don't think so. Moderate disillusioned republicans who will vote democratic for the first time in their lives don't think so. 51 million former Gore voters don't think so. Military who are losing benefits and who know Bush went AWOL don't think so. Uninsured who see funds going to Halliburton and Carlyle don't think so. Small businesses who are losing out to Walmart don't think so. 98% of taxpayers who saw their taxes go to the top 2% don't think so. 9/11 victims who see Bush covering up the facts don't think so.
The market is either looking ahead to a Democratic sweep or getting ready to sell big.
Either way, Bush is TOAST.

1. $64,000 question... that is what we need to keep asking |
|
Not "Is Democratic candidate X electable" but "Is Bush electable?"
Make the pukes defend Bush. Keep asking that question. Ask it to everyone you know.
Is Bush electable?

One posible way to phrase the question is:
WHY would any American vote for a president...then list off one of his many failures.
and every time start off with the refrain:
WHY would any American vote for a president...
Anyone care to take a stab at forming a question? Think along the lines of Ann Richards famous "Where was George" speech at the Dem Convention some years ago...
I'll go first:
WHY would any American vote for a president... who refuses to attend a single military funeral for any of our Afghanistan or Iraqi US Military casualties?
...this could be fun and even cathartic :)

This is the question that should be asked! Every single one of the Democratic candidates is more qualified to be President than GWB. The only way W is going to win is with a massive, $1/2 BILLION advertising (lie) campaign and Democratic party busy tearing itself apart.

4. Once you decide to rejoin the real world, you'll realize |
|
that George Bush is electable against ALL of the Democratic candidates. DU'ers have a frustrating tendency to associate only with people who agree with them politically. They seem to be completely unaware of the fact that most Americans (including many Democrats) do not consider Bush to be evil, while a substantial minority despise the Democrats just as much as the typical DU'er despises the Republicans. They remind me of the elderly woman from the Upper East Side who couldn't understand how Nixon managed to win the 1972 election. After all, she said, everyone she knew voted for McGovern.
The simple fact is that the overwhelming majority of Bush voters from 2000 aren't about to abandon Bush for a Democrat. And nothing that happens between now and election day 2004 is likely to change that. These people will either ignore every stupid thing Bush does, or will find a way to shift the blame to the Democrats. And even the strongest Democratic candidate (and I for one, do not consider Dean to be the strongest from the standpoint of the general election) will have to struggle mightily to get 50% of the popular vote (something no Democrat has done since 1976).
Now you may choose to ignore these fundamental truths. But you do so at your peril.

We have 11 months to sway voters minds. If everyone can at least bring one person over it could make the difference. We are up against a mighty machine, one that has the media in it's back pocket. This is the most important election in the history of U.S.

7. Dolstein, you are right. The majority of Repukes won't, but we |
|
Edited on Thu Dec-11-03 05:51 PM by TruthIsAll
don't need a majority. Five percent will do, thank you. NO Dem who voted for Gore will vote for Bush.
It's simple math. Dems won in 2000. They will win by 6-8% in 2004, as Nader and Bush voters leave him.
In the last three Presidential elections, the Dems got 14 million more votes than the Repukes. Ignoring third party candidates, they got 52.7% vs. the Repukes 47.4%.
You have chosen to ignore these fundamental truths. Time and time again. But you do so at your peril.
ONLY DIEBOLD CAN WIN IT FOR BUSH.

11. How about this fundemental truth? |
|
Democrats received 500,000 more votes in 2000 than an unknown Bush.
Now ask yourself, based on the stewardship of the Bush administration-
(1) How many of those 51MM will change their votes to Bush? (2) How many of those Republicans will maintain their vote with Bush? (3) How many Indies will vote Democrat vs. Republican?
The only thing we need fear is unverifiable computer votes.

We're taking a real gamble with some Democrats and are on surer footing with others. However, this is what I've been hearing here in Dem-saturated NY:
"I'd vote for a yellow dog before I would vote for Bush." "I'd vote for Goofy before I'd vote for Bush." "I'd vote for a skunk before I'd vote for Bush." "I'd vote for Bea Arthur before I'd vote for Bush." "I'd vote for Liberace before I'd vote for Bush, and honey, he's dead."
Out in the swing states? I hope they listen.

12. I do not put faith in the 51 million figure |
|
It is vainglory to think that all 51 million people who voted Gore last time will not vote ChimpCo this time. People's lives changed after 9/11. 3 years of media buttkissery and propeganda has ensued. Gobs of people STILL think that Iraq travisty is heaven on earth. We might get 51 million votes, SANS DIEBOLD OF COURSE, but dont count on it being the same exact 51 million.

13. I have not heard of ONE Gore voter who will vote for Bush. Have you? |
|
Edited on Thu Dec-11-03 09:23 PM by TruthIsAll
But there are MANY Bush voters who will either vote DEM or sit this one out.
These are the facts.
Now, since we got more votes last time, that means DIEBOLD is the one we are running against?

20. I know of one who voted for Gore |
|
and has suddenly turned against the Dem's. That is my mother. She watches all the propaganda and has fallen for it (now a days she will see Gore on tv and makes negative comments where as she defended him when the 2000 elections went to bush). Btw, she has voted Dem throughout her life. All of a sudden 9/11 happened and she has flipped her lid (well, in my eyes she has). I fear that she will vote for bush come this election, however, I don't know for sure and i have a chance to convince her to do otherwise.
Anyway, my point is that 9/11 and the "patriotic" sentiment that has swept the nation has had an impact on people. Despite all the nasty shit that bush has done since that time and the present some people are blinded by the fear and uncertainty that has become so prevalent in our society.

NBobody I know would consider voting for that ass in 1,000,000 years. I simply do not think he has any support but from clinically insane Rwingers. So I think the vast majority of our elections are stolen from us.
