Clark supporters, question for you....
I like Dean and I'm voting for him. But I would have NO problem voting for Clark if he gets the nom. will you vote for Dean if Clark doesn't win the nom? I would vote for any of them if Dean doesn't get the nom. I just see a lot of Dean attacks around here and I'm wondering if people would be able to get over it.

41. Hmm...I know your comment wasn't directed at me, but.-
it's kind of unfair to characterize not donating money as constituting non-support. If that were the case, then I "don't support" Clark, because I haven't worked a monetary donation into my budget yet, despite all the hours I have spent working on the campaign. (I apologize if I have misunderstood the meaning of your post. :-))

Heck, I don't know if I would donate money to Dean either; in my financial situation, I have to be pretty charged-up about someone to carve it out of my budget.

Don't pay attention to the hotheads and the "always with the same topic posters". They represent such a small fraction of the real world. Those types appear for every candidate. I'm sure you notice them much more too, because you like your guy.

I like mine too, and it really makes me mad. Unless it's a really snotty remark, I usually don't comment. Don't worry, it's all for one come November 2004.

17. Dems vote ABB. The problem is, that if Wes doesn't get it, you lose
the independents, GOP-ers who are comitted to him - everyone who hates W. They'll just stay home. One reason ABB doesn't mean any candidate can beat W.

26. The funny thing about this often asked question...
Edited on Thu Dec-11-03 06:55 PM by wyldwolf
...is I've never once seen a Clark supporter state he would not vote for the eventual nominee if it isn't Clark.

However, I've seen it often stated by some Dean and Kucinich supporters that they would not vote for Clark.

To answer your question: Yes. I'll gladly vote Dean should he win the nom.

30. Yep, with one caveat....
just in case somebody rides in on a white horse and provides a more progressive challenge to Bush that has a better chance of winning the general election. More progressive won't do it alone, nor will better chance of winning the general election be sufficient in and of itself.

Note that I don't see any sign such a person right now and I have NO idea who such a person might be.

I'm one of them, who will of course donate time and money to Dean's campaign if he gets the nomination instead of my favorite candidate Clark. Once the Democratic candidate starts going one-on-one with Bush, I for one will put all of this rivalry aside.

39. Yes, of course I'll vote for Dean if he's the nominee
I will vote for whoever the nominee is, because the most important thing is taking back the White House. For me, the only thing still in question is whether I'll also be campaigning for Dean should he win the nomination. I'm active in the Clark effort now, and it would be tough to "re-tool," so to speak, for another candidate. If between now and then, Dean can overcome my reservations about him, I'm willing to campaign for him as well as vote for him.

I'd also note that the above is true for any of the other candidates should they instead of Clark win the nomination; right now I feel that Clark is the best candidate.

Most of the Clark supporters on this board will do the same. I don't like that some here might think that we wouldn't. Go back and look at that original post about Gore's endorcement... I can't tell you how many posts on that thread were congrats from Clarkies. We are not what some here portray us to be.

I will do everything in my power to prevent that Evil Man in my White House from stealing the Presidency again!

44. Would I vote a Dem (no matter who) over Bush? HELL YEAH I WOULD.
Thats not the point, we need to get the best candidate on the ticket. If Dean turns out to be the nominee then yes I will vote for him. I would vote for Lie-berman too, because as dopey and conservative as he is, he is still 300 times better than Bush.

The "attacks" are simply an attempt to get the facts on the table so we can make an educated decision for choosing a nominee. The idea that I would suddenly not vote Dem because "my" candidate didn't make it is stupid. STUPID.

46. I'm waiting to see who will be running in the 2004 election
before making that decision. If Clark is running, I will vote for him. If Clark is not running, I'll see who else is, check out their views of the environment and so forth. And then I'll decide.

So far, Dean's record on the environment and other matters is not clear to me, except that Clark has stronger views that are more in sync with my views on that and other issues. I disagree with Dean's position on rolling back ALL the tax cuts, but how important that is, I don't know at this stage. And if it's Gephardt, I REALLY don't know his views, except that he hasn't voted most of the time, so that doesn't impress me. He also is not environmentally conscious (he didn't even vote on the Arctic Wildlife Refuge drilling bill...imagine). I think Gephardt is very tied to special interest unions. Is Dean, now, too? I don't know.

I'll probably vote for ABB (anyone but Bush), but it's way too early to consider voting for alternatives to my choice for President.

I would even vote for Liberman , as much as I would hate to be put in that position .I dont have anything aginst Dean ,I dont agree with him on every issuse ,however I do agree with him on many ! I have a problem with his pro war on drug stance .I read on how hard he made it for addits in Vermont to gain access to methadone treatment, some of them having to drive to other states for this life saving treatment ! I also fear that Dean will not win and feel Clark ,once in position as the Dem going up against bush would atract alot of moderates from both parties ,I do not see this happening with Dean. I dont think we have the option of taking anything for granted ,we need all of the votes we can get, including moderates ,greens and life long Dems !
