Glory Hallelujah! My wife just said the most beautiful words to me! |
|
"We should impeach Bush."
Big deal, you say? Well, as many of you know, my wife is a Republican. She was behind the Chimp all the way in 2000. Thought a little infidelity neutered one of the most successful and effective Presidents ever. Thought shrubbie would be decent and moral. Thought he had character and integrity. NOT ANYMORE!
She started to come around to the truth even before the ground war started in Iraq, and now, with the truth coming out about the masses of lies he told in order to live out some perverted John Wayne fantasy, she's become totally disgusted with him.
She still believes in the Repukes, though, and wanted to know what she could do about the situation. I told her, "Honey, write a letter to the RNC, urging them to nominate someone else. Vote in the GOP primary for anyone BUT Bush. Make your voice heard. Let them know you're pissed. They know we Democrats hate him. If they get it through their skulls that Republicans hate him too, they may actually do something about it."
She hates politics, so she may not actually do any of these things, but it's nice to know that my beloved, darling wife no longer thinks the world of Crusader Bunnypants.
There is a God!

1. Did you see the letter in today's paper saying the same thing? |
|
I think it was in the Times letters section - from a Republican who wants to see Bush impeached.
Wow - I'm happy for you (and for all of us) that your wife made that statement to you!

If you can just win her over to the light side of the force. This is good news, though. If she's feeling that way about Bush then I bet there are others in the Republican Party who are feeling the same way. Maybe you can convince her to vote Dem for president just this once to help get rid of BushCo. The Republicans aren't going to want anybody else. You can bet Bush will get the nom for sure unless something disasterous happens.

4. Speaking as a former Republican, here's how it worked for me |
|
First - Disappointed in a president (Nixon) thought it was a fluke. Still thought of myself as a Republican and voted Republican.
Second - Outraged at a president (Reagan) realized that Republicans were "not my people". Voted for ABR (Anybody but Reagan) in the primary and then the general election.
Third - Became an "Independent" (couldn't go all the way to officially naming myself as a Democrat in one step) but started following issues more closely and voted nearly (if not actually) 100% Democratic.
Fourth - Realized that I identify with everything the Democrats stand for and finally gave in, registered as a Democrat, still vote 100% Democrat.
She's on the right track and sounds like whe's with someone who'll help her understand the rest of what's right.

15. SharonAnn, I love your uplifting post |

A lifelong friend of mine called me a while back just to talk, and during our conversation, he told me that he had been a republican all his life, but since George W. became president, he is going to switch over to the democratic party. He also said that he thought George W.'s pappy was bad enough, but he doesn't think he was as bad as his son.

My wife and I have a terrific sex life. That's probably why she's not a shrub-bot. All of those B*sh-ass-kissers need a good lay, if you ask me.

13. Keep heart, I rebelled against the republican party about a year |
|
into Prince Jebs first reign down here in Florida. I wrote letters and sent emails but they all fell on deaf ears. Those arrogant SOB's in Tallahassee had become so drunk with power, they refused to listen to the voices of reason. The only thing they listen to is the sound of money. Vote Democrat and vote often, kick all of those arrogant bastards back to the corporations from which they came from!

20. My Republican Husband |
|
Feels the same way. I could not believe it when he said these people in the administration are a very dangerous lot. I almost fell off my chair. He said it from the beginning of this administration that Wolfowitz Cheney were the real powers. He thought that Bush would have gotten rid of Wolfowitz and Perle. Now he thinks the whole bunch are so corrupt that they will be the ruin of this country. When 9/11 happened, I kept saying they were behind this and he told me I was crazy, now everyday he says I was right. The whole 9/11 smells of conspiracy. I guess there is still hope for this nation if a republican can see through Bush and his cartel.
