BUSH IN FLAG FLAP from Drudge
<http://www.drudgereport.com/gbflag.htm>

That picture posted on DU a few days ago? Seems others have noticed that Bush was in yet another violation of American right and wrong.

The drip drip drip is leaking all over the place.

1. This episode just shows
how unutterably brain damaged this shithead is. And now for the lap-monkey, drudge, to suggest that the little Emperor will change the rules to protect his crime is just more liquid fertilizer. Yuck!!!

2. I wonder if * can make this bit retroactive
"Any rule or custom pertaining to the display of the flag of the United States of America, set forth herein, may be altered, modified, or repealed, or additional rules with respect thereto may be prescribed, by the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the United States, whenever he deems it to be appropriate or desirable; and any such alteration or additional rule shall be set forth in a proclamation."

8. And this proclamation shall
only apply to repiglicans. "the flag, of, by, and for republicans, henceforth all democrats will be hanged if caught saluting, looking at, displaying, touching, or mentioning the 'Murcan republican flag"

4. they also have a pic of him signing an IRAQI flag
There are two pics, both posted here on DU threads, one with bush signing an american flag, the other an IRAQI flag. Both cant be real, Im just happy that sludge brought it up so we wont get blamed for it. All in the pics (or at least one of them) are a hoax. Look for the "George bush at IRAQI fund raiser!!" thread July 26 at 136 pm and it will have the IRAQI flag pic. First lets decide which is the fake. THEN lets hang em.

6. If the repugs had their stupid flag desecration amendment
in the constitution, Chimpy would be impeached.

But I forget - impeachment is for legally elected presidents...

11. the 'president'

which that POS certainly is NOT in my mind,

should EMBODY respect for the flag

not be EXEMPT from idiotic, arrogant DISRESPECT.

there are very clear RULES about RESPECT for the flag.

faux patriots who hang a flag on there truck until it is tattered and soiled display utter DISRESPECT for the flag.

SO does signing your NAME on one. a real President would politely refuse and KNOW the reason why.

if Clinton had done the same....

you, as a repuke apologist, would be calling for his head.

14. The so called "president" should respect the American flag
It's embarrassing to have a total moron representing the USA. It's even more embarrassing for anyone in America to think his stupidity is just fine. God,this is unbelievable.

15. That's pretty damn funny. Really
Oh, wait, you mean that wasn't sarcasm?

Get a clue. He's defaced the office, the White House, The Country, and the flag, not to mention the uniform he briefly wore.

16. There are regulations
on the display and care of the flag. Perhaps if Bush had completed his service in the National Guard he would have learned what all Boy Scouts know. Is that asking too much from the Commander in Chief?

18. I don't know of anyone here at DU who calls him
the President -- at least not without a disclaimer attached.

Do you consider him a duly elected, legitimate President?

19. Bullshit.
Unless the colors are displayed properly in accordance to the rules, signing one's name to the flag is no less disrespectful than burning it would be. I just have to wonder what would happen if a Democrat did the same thing.

17. I just can't get worked up over this

It irks me. It's another example of Bush's ignarrogance (ignorance and arrogance). And if it helps some people see that side of him who somehow missed it before (like when our troops are dying one-a-day and he says "Bring 'em On" or when he tossed off some little joke about it being easier if America was a "dictatorship") then great! Let the whole world see it!

But it seems there's so much worse shit going on right now that this is just like "huh? who cares?" to me. We have the Novak dirty tricks thing. We have numerous misleading statements that got us into Operation "Bring 'em On". We have 28 pages of an intelligence report that both Republicans and Democrats are saying should be declassified. We have the end of the 40 hour work week. We have Gitmo being turned into a death camp. We have serious doubts about whether our votes will count in the next election. We have the courts on the brink of being packed with right-wing idealogues.

And we're worried about him signing flags?

Am I remembering correctly?
