Dean runs as a Libertarian, splits GOP vote, Clark/Edwards |
|
It makes sense. Dean can go after the Confederate Flag/NRA/Libertarian vote, taking away some of Bush's base, like Perot did, and Dems bring out our base for Clark/Edwards. Dean gets to be Secretary of HHS. Win-win!

He would have the means, but he knows it would guarantee his loss and guarantee Bush's win.

unless he self destructs in the eyes of the primary/caucus participants and has no other means of running.

I seem to recall people saying the same thing during another Bush presidency after another Iraq war.

9. I see that it has opened the door for Edwards. |
|
Edwards has managed to define himself outside of the Iraq invasion without appearing soft on national security issues.
It's the smart thing to do. Anyone who thought Iraq was going to work against Bush was insane.
It proves that Edwards is politically savy and has the good judgment required of the president.

13. its the difference between representing principle or issues |
|
Edwards thinks and acts on his principles. He does not have sides on issues. Funny how its people like this who win the While House (FDR, JFK, JEC, WJC and a host of others).

that the "positive effect" this has on Bushit will last about a week. He's toast because Saddam Hussein is totally irrelevant to 9/11 and to the real needs/problems of Americans: employment, healthcare, education, and the environment--at all of which Bush has long proved himself to be a Miserable Failure.

23. I don't believe this one bit |
|
I'm one of those who is happy to see Saddam, a brutal, murderous, repulsive tyrant, off the backs of the Iraqi people. But as far as Bush goes, this is no different than the appearance on deck in the flight suit. What changes? Not a thing. American soldiers die. Iraqis die. The war goes on. In three weeks nobody will be thinking about this and it will be back to counting bodies. If these idiots had taken him during the invasion, that might have been something else, but they didn't and things just got worse and worse. There's no reason they won't go on getting worse until there is regime change in Washington.

his approval ratings will spike, just like they did after the war began, after the flight suit, and after the last few stupid stunts he's pulled...by mid january he's back below 50%
please stop with the defeatist attitude

11. That is rediculous, Dean is not anything close to libertarian |
|
he isn't even close to as pro-gun as them, not to mention the fact that he is running on a middle class tax increase and 90 billion more on healthcare

|
I'm not kidding. If Dean ran as an Independent I seriously believe he would win, especially if he has the most support and the DLC manages to use superdelegates to select the nominee. Dean has said he'd never run that way, though.

He would however cost us any chance at the election.

Inflammatory. Support, criticize, and discuss, but advocating that a candidate for the Democratic Presidential nomination leave the Party is inflammatory.
