5 killed in botched saddam search, 2 more soldiers killed......
knock knock, it's us, the u.s. marines, we're here to see if saddam is hiding out in your closet. your neighbor called us and said a guy that looks like him is in there, so open up. alright then, we're coming in.....oops, wrong house. sorry about the 5 dead people, guess your neighbor just had a grudge against you and have a nice day.

this actually happened: a disgruntled neighbor or relative narked on them to the u.s. and they raided the house, on flimsy tips, and killed 5 people. it was on the news, but i never heard an apology.

meahwhile, the headlines, 'two more marines killed in tikrit', and, '100 casualties since mission accomplished declared' are becoming a boring everyday mantra.

is this what victory looks like?

1. And I wish they would just stop with the parsing of
words. There's no distinction between dying by "hostile fire" and otherwise when you are a soldier. Are they saying that the soldiers who didn't die by hostile fire but died because of "accidents" are somehow less than the hostile fire deaths?

They complain about Clinton; "it depends on what the definition of "is" is." Then they go and underreport the deaths DUE TO WAR. I'm sick of 'em. Remember. Bush was "technically" right about the yellowcake bullshit.

4. Solomon, according to Rumsfeld a couple of weeks ago......
"accidents happen" no matter where you are. So, yeah, the head Pentagon sees a HUGE difference in hostile fire vs accidents. I saw it with my own eyes on one of the news talk shows. Yeppers.....Rummy says accidents are going to happen whether soldiers are in the USA or Iraq. Amazing, isn't it?

5. Accidents happen because
troops are driving down dirt roads at 80 mph because they are afraid of getting ambushed at slow speed. someone in the media ought to get hold of the death rate by accident of troops stationed in the US. the rate in Iraq has got to be a lot higher. if so, then those extra deaths should be attributed to the war.

The thugs are doing this so it won't look as bad as it is.

How many have died in vehicle accidents? approx. 75?...and we are supposed to believe that?

2. Sounds just like the LA police during a drug bust
Wrong house well you shouldn't live in this neighborhood. Never an apology or restitution. So what else is new?

3. all these "military missions" are running together for me......
Whatever mission was on the news ALL DAY yesterday was a raid on a house in Tikrit on a tip that Saddam was there and the USA claims it missed Saddam's head security guard by 24 hours. How the story went from a logical "we missed SADDAM by 24 hours" to "we missed Saddam's security guard by 24 hours" is not explained! No mention of 5 citizens being murdered in the "mission."

So......I assume this is the SAME story 'cept today there's an admission that innocent people were killed.

Or is this yet ANOTHER Iraqi family that has been unduly brutalized and terrorized.

The USA is a bunch of terrorists........someone should freeze their friggin bank accounts so they can cease to operate. Oh......that's right.......they don't have any money in their bank accounts! They are bankrupt! (Does the american public know that a deficit means NEGATIVE balance of 400 billion?).

So, I wonder who is funding these American terrorists? Hmmmmmm.

Sorry.....I am disgusted with our country today!
