Did we teach our children the value of life? |
|
Did anyone on DU see the video of the 80 year old Iraqi man fleeing for his life while being chased by American GI's?
I am still appalled at seeing the 80 year old man running through his yard being chased by our Kids yes our Kids over in Iraq. What the hell has gone wrong with us Americans are we a society of hate filled people.
Jr's oil war needs to stop and our Boys needs to at least respect the elderly. Chasing an 80 year old man through his yard was one of the most disgusting things I have ever witnessed in my life. I don't have anything else that I can compair that to except the pictures of the dead kids and the dead people in Iraq.
How many more atrocities are we going to witness before this BS war comes to an end.
Maybe what we are seeing is mild compared to what is really going off over in Iraq.
Hate me for saying this but I don't blame them for shooting back at our men. They are fighting for their lives and we are responsible for destroying what little that they had in life. They were poor people but they had their families and love for their families and that means allot more then possessions.
God Help us for destroying Iraq!

1. I understand and agree with much of what you say. |
|
And yet none of us here safe behind our monitors know what is going through the minds of our soldiers as they face the very real prospect of dying in the streets of Iraq.
I blame and hold the entire Bush cabal directly responsible for each and every act committed by our troops, and for every death and casualty inflicted on our troops.
Atrocities? I fear we have seen nothing yet.

3. Our Boys want to come home |
|
Why can't we fight to get them out of Iraq. They are fighting for their life's but while they are fighting they don't have to chase old men or kill kids.
I am divided on this and I know we are not seeing what it really going on over in Iraq.

5. We are fighting, corarose; we fight on many fronts. |
|
We fight in our communities when we discuss this issue with our friends and neighbors and raise our voices in opposition; when we organize our numbers and take to the streets, when we pen letters to our representatives and media editors, when we attend town hall meetings, when we call into talk radio, when we create flyers and paste them across our communities, when we gather here or on other like forums, create our blogs and email one another, when we hammer our frustration and anger home up through ever more vigilance and vocalization, and on and on and on.
We are an ever flowing movement of opposition to the death policies of this corrupt corporate owned Bush government and one day, come hell or high water, and in spite of the corporate masters manipulation through ownership of OUR 4th arm, we WILL overcome!!

9. yes, media being the "4th arm" of govt. |
|
but we do have the Internet and there are growing media outlets that we can support and help to grow.
Free Speech TV is one
World Link TV is another
Indymedia.org is not just on the net anymore- its moving into print and radio too.
And while I hate to say this, but as American casualties become higher our voices resonate more loudly with the media, and we must hammer, hammer, hammer our message home. We must not let our childrens/spouses/parents/family members deaths be for naught.
And while I grieve, and I grieve terribly, for the more than now 8,000 innocent Iraqi civilians who have been murdered by the Bush cabal, it is not their deaths that will end this madness, but the increasingly higher number of American deaths.
And THAT is what we need to keep front and center. Do not let them be forgotten, do not let a day go by without raging against the machine that has murdered, and will continue to murder, our loved ones.
