Message to Kerry and Gephardt: Stop spamming my wife! |
|
Edited on Wed Dec-17-03 06:22 AM by virtualobserver
My wife, who has never been in contact with either campaign and is a staunch Dean supporter, has been hyper-spammed by both Kerry and Gephardt over the last few days with their anti-Dean filth. They must be either sharing or buying the same mailing lists since they started simultaneously.
I know that they have heard about Dean using the internet, but I don't know if they were aware but SPAM is one of the things about the internet that we DON'T like.

2. her inbox is overflowing |
|
she is unimpressed.
Maybe if they also promised some sort of "enlargement" for me, she might be motivated to open one of the messages.

the DNC web site? If so, they have access to the names of people who registered there. I get email from them all the time....or use to until I blocked their emails. Just block them, then you won't have to worry about it. I was getting emails daily from Kerry, Gephardt and about 5 a day from the Dean campaign. They are all on my blocked email list now.

7. umm, follow the instructions at the bottom of every e-mail? |
|
. . . or is it more gratifying to bitch about it on a discussion forum?

remove my name from the Dean email list and it didn't work. I put them on my "block email" list. That worked. :)

6. I'm signed up everywhere |
|
I get two emails a day from the Kerry campaign at the most. I get two or three a week from Edwards & Gep. I get occasional DNC email. This is a crock of shit.

from other candidates. I get occasional e-mails from DNC and maybe one a day or every other day from the Dean campaign. Your wife must have signed a petition or something that gave those creeps the idea she would be receptive to their trash.
on edit: by "creeps" I mean the spamming supporters and not the candidates.

10. You should be able to get off the lists with a simple request. |
|
However, your claim of spam is the first I have heard from any of these candidates.

11. perhaps......but I shouldn't have to do that |
|
I just found it interesting that start of the spamming from both was simultaneous.

stuff from Gep over a month ago, never signed up for it. Started getting stuff from Kerry a week or so ago, never signed up for it. I get stuff from Dean but I did sign up for it, I've signed DNC petitions so now I get stuff from them. I'm impressed that Edwards hasn't spammed me because I write him often as I live in NC. I've never recieved unsolicited mail from any of the other candidates. So far the spam has not been of a volume to be a problem. It is interesting that Gep and Kerry are the only two that seemingly have used addresses probably obtained from the DNC. Thats politics. I get spammed by local politicians in my snail mail box too.
