On nerve gas and sadam... |
|
I guess a moderator didn't like my words in trying to explain to others wanting to believe the saudi press about using nerve gas on sadam. As I had a warning today and I thought I better explain myself on what I was saying before you show this old dem the door :) . Maybe others feel any attack on sadam is somehow support for bushlite and this IMO is wrong, supporting sadam will not elect one democrat canidate which is the prize we should be working for. Yes I'm a moderate democrat and proud of that... I understand others are alittle more radical but to come across as "covering" isn't helpful to any dem...
Well here's what I was trying to say....
First off nerve gas needs to be handled very carefully, you don't get protection from a gas mask, you need a very good BNC suit. Something that covers all of you, nerve agents can go through the skin and as such a simple gas mask isn't enough.
Second, nerve agents don't lose potenancy over time and will contaminate an area, you wouldn't see people able to craw though the "spider" hole without coming under the effects of the nerve agents.
Working around nerve agents takes alot of specialized training, it's not issued to the troops on a regular basis, it would take a special unit not a group like found sadam (600+ men).
Then you have the whole saudi press issue, these are the guys that report jews eat their babies and the like, I still say they are just trying to give loyal arabs a way to save face. Not saudi press was around at the time and they are working from conjecture pure and simple. would any of us take anything a US press source would say without proof, I don't see why we should from the saudi press either.
I hope this explains the post alittle better...

Nerve agents DO lose potency over time. Not immediately, but they do lose potency.
This is why the claims of Saddams stocks of Sarin were so dubious. The Sarin that Saddam had in 1991 had a shelf life of approximately 2 months (meaning it lost its potency over time). (Or so the CIA agent interviewed in the documentary Uncovered said, and the instructors at the multiple NBC schools I attended while in the army years ago said the same thing).
Not disputing you're refutation of the Saudi article, because I happen to agree that it's not believable, just your incorrect information about nerve agents losing potency.

2. How believable is Saddam fitting in a hole Nick Robertson has to squeeze |
|
to get in?
Does "nerve gas" mean the same thing to you as it does to everyone else in the world?
Does the press in Saudi Arabia have more freedom than the US press?
What is a "loyal Arab?"
