How Tom Kean's announcement relates to Saddam's "capture"
What if there is a deep division between the executive branch of government and the armed services?

What if there is a deep division between the executive branch of government and the CIA?

What if Bush wanted Saddam killed but others decided that it may actually be a good idea to uncover the truth about America's (Reagan/Bush/Bush/Cheney) role in the Persian Gulf?

Knowing now that he could shed some light on some real hot s**t, it may actually be prudent for the 9/11 commission to get the story out in the US before Saddam starts spilling.

I predict that most of the truth will be known soon, i.e. within six to 10 months.

1. I think they had orders to shoot Saddam but...
they didn't know it was Saddam in the hole and after he surrendered, it was too late. I would guess the officer corps had orders to kill.

2. The problem is
That anything that Saddam says to shed light will be labeled a lie and anything that goes their way will get top bill on the news. There's no truth from this administration and they're masters of deception.

3. you're right but sometimes a case has a lot of circumstantial
evidence. And all you need for a conviction is independent corroboration. Even if its from an imperfect source.

4. Convicting Bush
or Saddam? I understand what you're saying and agree about the source. But the administration would never allow testimony by Saddam. He'd be hanging from a bedsheet noose in his cell before that would happen.

5. Rumsfeld, Reagan and Poppy...
...should be co-defendents. Saddam was "their bastard"...and then Junior was charged with dealing out the spanking. A delinquent himself. How...republican...

6. Hope Saddam kept a copy of the 12,000 page report
that the US redacted 75% of. Wonder if he'll use that in his defense? Maybe he'll subpeona Rumsfield and Bush, Sr. as defense witnesses.
