I just heard Carville lump Kucinich with Traficant as losed dem candidates.
:wtf:
James....what happened to ye?? I used to like the way you spoke out...but lately???
What the hell is going on....how can a dem speak against a legitimate candidate at this point??!!!
I am sooo disappointed.....nothing to watch this show for anymore.... :grr:

It sucks that candidates don't/can't get equal air time...
It sucks that eveyone has to be so freaking petty...
And point of reference... He does have a chance to win.

The thing is - it's fine if he wants to be DLC, it's fine if he wants to push it but now he's just becoming silly. There's no necessity for spite and ugliness. This just makes me firmer in my believe that we're on the right track in distancing ourselves from them and their agenda.
Also firmer in my resolve to turn as many people on to Kucinich as possible.

It is unfair to compare him to the unprincipled crook, Traficant, though, IMO. He is a legit candidate, if a bit weak in defending himself.

22. or maybe Carville read |
|
the original (2001) version of Kucinich's Space Weapon Ban bill (HR 2977) which included prohibitions against:
* chemtrails * particle beams * electromagnetic radiation * plasmas * extremely low frequency (ELF) or ultra low frequency (ULF) energy radiation * or mind-control technologies
These items were omitted from the reformulated bill, reintroduced in 2002 as HR 3616. Some of the conspiracy websites think "someone had a chat" with Denis.
Being on the left politically doesn't mean a candidate can't win. Being perceived as wacky does.
Carville's whole career has been trying to WIN elections. Like him or not, he knows what wins ("It's the economy, Stupid!") and what loses.

Yes, I do support Dennis Kucinich. I know he is progressive to the max, but this is what we hammer on here at DU over and over again. I guess it's somewhat different when we need to "put our money where our mouth is." His candidacy is even more important when you put his ideals alongside the thread I was just on "How to defeat the right wing idealogues in 3 minutes" (I think that was the title)
If you haven't read this thread, please do so. The article posted there coined a new phrase for the pugs, "Cheap Labor Conservatives". I hope it resonates throughout DU and elsewhere. This thread should give most people who read it a new appreciation of DENNIS KUCINICH. It should also make us wonder why so many so-called dems keep calling him unelectable or worse. The "savior" came and nobody recognized him!

He was responding to Tucker's claims that Kucinich and Trificant are "leading" Democratic Prez Candidates.
Carville started his statement with "I support all of the Democratic candidates" and then went on to lambast Tucker for not talking about anything serious while he's talking about Iraq and the hidden pages of the 911 report.
If anybody here really thinks that Kucinich is a leading candidate I'd find that surprising.

the problems it raises with me regard how strong his personality actually is. These centrists like Carville who are determined to wring evwery ounce of true liberalism out of the Democratic Party are the best friends the Greens ever had.
Carville doesn't have to give any ringing endorsements, and he's entitled to like who he wants.
But this behavior from someone in his position is deplorable. Carlson bashed Kucinich -- and by extension all of the views he represents -- as some martian.
Carville could have said something like "The Democrats trea a biog tent, and we'll see who gets the nomination" or somethoing neutral like that. But noooooooo...He had to join Carlson in "liberal bashing."
He also subtly bashed Dean, in his praie og Graham.

....didn't watch C-span today when Bill Clinton's pollster gave his detailed report of an in-depth polling done last week. I was personally quite dismayed by the details. The demographics just aren't there to elect a true liberal unless public opinion is changed dramatically before election time in certain sectors.
Only 30 percent of DEMOCRATS consider themselves liberal. And 33 percent of Americans are registered Democrats. This means that a liberal candidate's true base is only about 10 percent of the electorate.
The bottom line of the pollster's report is that the definition of a winning Dem is someone perceived as a moderate with the ability to neutralize GOP national security advantage.
(Gee, that sounds like Wesley Clark)
I'm disheartened by the numbers, being a liberal.
