i WAS Thinking A Saddam Trial Would Never happen
I didn't think that an open trial for Saddam Hussein would ever happen, because of issues of complicity.

But now I think I've changed my mind.

I realize that all of Hussein's "business records" have likely been destroyed. So if he implicates anyone important, it will be just a crazy old man versus the forces aligned against him.

(I don't like Saddam. In fact, I hate him. But mostly he's a pawn.)

1. Well he hasn't been anyone's pawn exactly for a decade
and he should be tried for his crimes. The point, however, is that people in high places in our government were accomplices to some of his crimes and should be tried right along side him so that the right wing can PROVE to the world that moral relativism is wrong..just once I would like to see them live up to the absolutes they proclaim to be applicable to everyone else.

6. Have you seen 'Goodfellas'?
When the drug runner guys on trial and rats them all out? That's what would happen if Saddam got a fair trial because he's just the BCF's old hitman. He had fell out of favor with the family and has been in hiding ever since. If he faced an actual war crimes tribunal the BCF would be implacated in everything he did and they'd get worse time than Saddam would.

7. SH will never stand trial. He has the "goods" on the BFEE.
He will die somehow before trial. Mark my words.

8. I see it already
Saddam was found dead in prison today when he committed suicide by jumping down a elevator shaft on top of a bunch of bullets.:( The BCF is starting to get sloppy.
