Who's the chap running against Delay?
I know that I've heard his name somewhere but it didn't stick. I'd like to track down his site and/or address and send him a campaign donation. Although, I'm a Clark supporter, getting Delay on the campaign defensive is worthy of a BAT!

1. Wasn't our Speaker Tom Foley not re-elected?
If he can be outsted then we can sure as hell do it to DeLay.

2. Foley's district was far more conservative than DeLay's
Foley's is in conservative Eastern Washington, while DeLay's is in conservative Sugar Land, Texas.

I'd love to see him defeated, but I can't see TX-22 as anything but SAFE GOP.

3. Delay got 60% in 2002.
I wouldn't mind chipping in for his opponent. 60% is a big hurdle, but still.

I'll even
send a donation to his primary opponent, another Repuke, whoever.

Saw him on Meet the Press this morning. Even conservatives have to agree this asshole is an embarassment to Texas.

6. Let's do it
60% isn't THAT hard to deal with, we could probably dig up enough dirt that would attract GOPers to vote against him.

7. You don't have to actually beat him
Edited on Sun Dec-21-03 05:46 PM by jmaier
Even if Delay has to spend significantly more money and time at home campaigning that will cut into some of the energy he can effectively spend during the critical election year causing legislative mischief in Washington.

I'd like to see a concerted MoveOn.org, DU, etc. effort against him. It would be nice if the "leading" democratic candidates would weigh in with their supporters as well.

"Don't Delay. It's time for Tom to spend more time in Texas."

on edit: my apologies to the good Dems of Texas!

13. Move on would be great
but I think they would do well to concentrate on the Pres election. Maybe in 2006 they can look at House races.

11. Waiting 'Til The Primary Dust Settles Down
I'm waiting until the Democratic primary dust settles down before I make a donation to the Democratic candidate running for Tom De Lay's seat. Seeing De Lay become a lame duck in November, 2004 would be sheer pleasure.
