I'd be willing to say "Orange" at the very least.

2. Agreed,
They'll set it to red after the massive NYC 9/11 anniversary attack.

4. If they do mess with it,
they'll do it almost immediately before election day, and not any time before. They could also do it in selected (read heavily Democratic) parts of the country.

6. depends on how well Bush is faring at the polls
if he's clearly in control then it will stay at yellow. If he's failing (which I suspect he will) then orange with a slightly red tinge to it

7. We'll probably be under marshall law
by then, with the draft and detainee camps ramped up to high gear.

8. Do you think that they'd sacrifice W for the "JFK" effect and
try to play on our "sadness" over a president's death to win control for the next 40 years?

Especially under a "terrorist" attack.

Funny, how it would happen, since he has to have 14000 security guards to visit a "friendly" country which backs "our" war.

Imagine the kind of security forces he would need to show up in an "unfriendly" nation. (Remember, when he went to Iraq, he was at the airfield surrounded by our military, plus the grand total of 200K or so troops in Iraq.)
