I just made only my second contribution ever tonight |
|
Well, I caved in. I don't have much cash to spare right now, but I just charged a $5.00 donation to Dean tonight as part of the "Beat Bush/Cheney" bat promo.
The only ever time I gave in a Presidential campaign was in 1988...when I gave $5.00 to Gary Hart because I felt sorry for the schmuck. When he relaunched his campaign he said "five bucks, and you're part of the campaign." So I mailed him a $5.00 bill. Still have his thank you letter somewhere.

1. Hey, it's the energy and support behind that $5 that really counts.... |
|
Whether you are giving $5 or $500.....you are sending an equally strong message to Dean, to yourself, to big potential donors and to the American voting public that you believe in Dean. That's priceless!
And I almost think that $5 from someone who doesn't have much to give means soooooo much more than some bush trillionaire supporter who can write a check for $2000 for a plate of food. Indeed I do.
I am impressed!!!

Only new to the new message board. Lost my password for the longest time. I've contributed a few articles to DU in the past several months, including one I hope to see up in the next day or two! :)
Money's tight because I'm a small business owner with a heart. I bought a movie theater in my city's downtown area and have been trying to clean and repair it. I employ five people and deal locally for almost everything I need. As a result, money can be hard to come by and there are weeks when I'm not sure I can meet the payroll. But doing something to revive our downtown is worth it.
A couple of people around here are suggesting I run for Mayor next year. Maybe I can become People Powered Pab!

Every bit helps. And who can't feel good contributing when the graphic suggests batting Bush and Cheney around?

5. I'm planning to donate to Dean soon |
|
though I'm a little worried, as the last, and only, candidate I donated to came to a tragic end.
RIP, Paul Wellstone.
