Unity from a Brokered Convention |
|
I think a brokered convention might be a great thing to happen the democratic party and the country. First, it would be a civics lesson; it would help teach about how the process really works. I could see the Jeff Greenfields of the world in heaven explaining how each state has different methods for choosing it's slate of delegates.
Second, it would mean longer and more concentrated coverage of the democratic convention, thus giving us free publicity.
Third, it would give us a chance to settle on a big scale what the party stands for and whom we could unite behind. We might even come out with a solid agenda and message. (Maybe even promise some cabinet appointments...)
As long as we stay civil to each other, and keep our eye on the prize, we can knock dubya off his perch.
