Bush caused the Iran and California earthquakes, and invented Mad Cows
There is now, soon to sink, a locked thread concerning the 'theory' that Bush caused the Iran earthquake. The initial post points out that the 'theory' gives to Bush God-like powers.

Presumably, the post is considered inflammatory and continues a 'flame war' from another thread.

OK.

But, what how are such 'theories' to be dealt with?

You really can't formulate arguments against an assertion this absurd. Ignoring the thread works, but leaves these fellows to reinforce their alternative reality belief system without outside interference--and leaves anyone popping into the DU message board thinking he has found a den of fools.

The proper response is a concerted shout of 'HORSEMANURE!', but that will likely get the message deleted.

Really, truly, such assertions are outside the bounds of rational discourse and serious discussion. The moderators should quickly, quietly, and unceremoniously remove them to some appropriate area and let them fester there.

1. agree
we should be able to expand our vocab in certain threads. They make everyone here look like idiots, especially whe Rush starts mentioning Monday.

2. What's there to worry about? Even Republicans know Bush is too stupid
and incompetent to cause or invent anything.

3. I knew that G-D would become a conspiracy corner
after it was separated out. I have long asked for a separate forum for conspiracy theorists.

4. Questions, comments, and/or criticisms regarding forum moderation ...
... can be posted in the "Ask the Administrators" forum. Any disagreement with the content of posts, either specific or general, can be posted civilly in response to such posts, not by initiating (yet) another thread. I'm locking this thread.

Thanks for your understanding and cooperation,
