will the bush* collapse come from within...will it be nixonian???

as the crimes pile up...enron, war-profiteering, treason (outing CIA agent), medicare bribes, halliburton, withholding energy meeting minutes, withholding 9/11 papers, lying about WMD and more....will bush sink like nixon...fallen by his own greed and corruption, and backed into the finale, as his own inner circle criminals turn against bush* to plea-bargain out-of-jail-cards....

as bush* appears more and more to be back into his own admitted additions to alcohol/drugs....

the BIG question is:

will bush* go down like nixon, who was incoherent on National TV at the end.....???

1. This sounds more like wishful thinking . . .
. . . than anything else. I don't see any sign of any such impending collapse in the White House.

12. Only In So Far As...
If a White House, that White House WILL reap what it sows.

But when?

When?

2. That would be the perfect solution
for getting rid of these radical Bushco interlopers. It would take something more than really outrageous to defuse the Bush idolaters.

4. Bush could roger his dog....
...on the Ellipse, on national television, and still have a safe majority in both Houses of Congress.

And the networks would commend him for his technique in doing so.

And Focus on the Family would tell us that Jesus told Bush to do it.

The whole point of the Monica thing was not to get Clinton out of office, but to discredit the impeachment process by using it on a trivial offense. Since Republicans had faced it regularly (Nixon w/ Watergate, Reagan w/ Iran-Contra) thye had come to fear it.

If they got Clinton, that was icing on the cake, a happy accident.

They needed to destroy the impeachment tool, and they succeeded.

6. I agree. I think he will crumble.
He's going to melt down in public eventually. He doesn't have the mental fortitude to keep it together.

7. I tend to share your viewpoint, Stephanie
I think he'll be able to get by for the rest of this term; but if he gets put back in the White House in 2004 and the next four years unfolds the same as this one, there's either going to be a palace coup, a revolt by genuine conservatives, or he's going to snap.

9. upcoming from the bush* mad-cow mess is ANOTHER circus...
Edited on Mon Dec-29-03 11:58 PM by amen1234

this one will be amazing...the corruption in the BEEF industry....
enthralled and enabled by BEEF lobbyists and special interests, that bush* appointed into official government posts all over the 'Food and Drug Administration (FDA)' and the 'United Stated Department of Agriculture (USDA)', all the way up to and INCLUDING bush* Cabinet officials (all paid for by us, the people getting poisoned)....

your are exactly right....bush* cannot stand up to the scrutiny that Clinton did...

especially with bush* admitted history of heavy drinking/drugging
...there is nobody to bail bush* out now, like in his other failed businesses...and reTHUGs will eat their own...with so many crisis going on all at the same time, and the American soldiers bodies just piling up from bush* poor decisions...it may just take a little bit to have the whole thing come crumbling down....

for nixon, despite all his BIG crimes and KILLINGs and bribes, and American soldiers bodies piling up from his poor decisions...at the very end, it was a really 'little' thing that collapsed the whole White House....Watergate...a third-rate burglary that happens every day in DC and rarely is prosecuted...hell, nothing was even stolen at Watergate...just a few useless papers that had no value to anything...

bush* is getting paranoid, now, like nixon, and bush* is hiding more and more....bush* can hear the screams of the innocent people that he ordered killed...it's a haunting noise that never goes away...

8. bush's power base is falling fast...
You will have the 1/3 of the core GOP behind him, but that makes little difference in the grand scheme. Those that hold the REAL power in the GOP have fallen silent in the support of the boy king.

Bottom line, those that pull the strings in the GOP have had it with this clod. The easiest way to bring him down is from the inside.

Even here in Nebraska, (I'm not kidding), the support for the buffoon has fallen silent. They are Republicans because they have always BEEN Republicans; but they hate this guy. Farmers in the Heartland have had it with this bum.

O8)

11. the GOP guys might pull the 'nixonian shuffle' to keep power...

for nixon....VP agnew resigned under a pending HUD housing corruption charge (stealing tons of money from poor people's housing)...so to 'keep-out-of-jail', agnew resigned...and a selection was determined by the behind-the-scenes GOP guys (Ford)....then Ford assumed the Presidency as nixon was pushed out....and Ford then put in Nelson Rockefeller....interesting that the behind-the-scenes GOP could appoint Nelson to be VP...Nelson was a private citizen at the time (although he had once been the Gov. of NY).....so we had BOTH POTUS and VPOTUS not elected by the people...
that's the nixonian shuffle....

with bush* it'd be so much easier....under pressure for the energy task force notes and halliburton, cheney resigns for 'health reasons', goes behind-the-curtain and continues his same job...bill frist (?) or some other 'chosen' by GOP assumes VP...then...bush* resigns...and frist (or whatever 'chosen' one) assumes the presidency...

the BIG advantage for a nixonian shuffle is that the GOP maintains power, and can run a Presidential candidate from a position of power (like Ford, but he flunked....)..if bush* keeps slipping, IMO, a nixonian shuffle would be attempted...the frist move is already done...the GOP guys-behind-the-scenes KNOW that they may have to go to "Plan B" at any time, as the bush* looks bad lately, like he's heavily drinking/drugging...me thinks that's why they got bush* out at the 'prairie chapel' ranch so much, making NO PUBLIC appearances...

19. heard it a lot during my recent trip in SW Colorado....."bush*
fooled us" is what everyone said...'bush' fooled us....

one guy was so upset because he wouldn't vote for bush* anymore...but he was in a real tizzy about what he could do now, since he was a die-hard republican...'bush* fooled us'....

amused me...real straight folk...they don't like being fooled...and they won't vote for bush* again...

the mad-cow mess won't set real well with ranchers...bush* has already boggled so much of that crisis...and it all could have been prevented rather cheaply with just a little regulation...now, the whole beef industry could collapse hard....

18. The expression
"dogs are nipping at your heels" is true in this case. They eat their own and are plotting their meal of him as we speak the same as I have said for Rush he is blaming the Democrats but he will never let on that he knows it is his own inbred sharks that are circling the boat. That is the way they operate, remember Trent Lott who tossed him in the water to the sharks? his own, enough said.

20. yes, long-timer GOP Trent Lott was tossed in the blink-of-an-eye
over a 'little' birthday party thing....

IMO, the GOP will also throw bush* out, if it becomes better for those behind-the-scenes-GOPers to have someone else...it wouldn't bother them anymore than trent did...or nixon, or KILLING little children by splattering them with multiple bomblets of spinning flaming metals....
