drudge is gloating that cnn is bombing, but I find it funny that all of the shows that are bombing on cnn, and msnbc are the conservative ones. why don't these networks just face it, fox has it's regulars, their numbers aren't going down, but they are not going up either. this is just the die-hard repugs, nothing these other channels can do to get them.

so do you think they are going to bring back crossfire, and msnbc did a hell of a lot better with phil, when they pulled him he was pulling a .9, 3 times better then anything they have now and these shows have had enough time to establish themselves.

1. Shoot, you summed that up sooooo well.......
I think you should write them a note. Cause you just called it perfectly. YOu are absolutely right. CNN is starting to get OUR viewership because they are starting to report real news (starting!).

Wouldn't this be a great time to bring in a liberal...like Donahue?

2. Liberal, yes.. Donahue, no..
I think he may have passed his prime. I'd prefer to see someone a bit more on the ball and able to handle hot situtuations, someone along the lines of James Carvelle/Paul Begala. After the cut to half hour on CNN for Crossfire, I could see one of them taking a multi hour show on MSNBC similar to the way Preiss/Buchanan were offered a slot. If the format were like Charlie Rose, I'd prefer to see someone like Sidney Blumenthal.

3. Information on Donahue's former MSNBC show
Meanwhile, the Web site www.allyourtv.com posted a commentary on Wednesday by Rick Ellis saying that he had been leaked an internal NBC study that described Donahue as "a tired, left-wing liberal out of touch with the current marketplace."

The report allegedly said Donahue presented a difficult face for NBC at a time of war, saying a nightmare scenario would be one in which his show becomes "a home for the liberal anti-war agenda at the same time our competitors are waving the flag at every opportunity."
http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity/entertainment/5263274.htm

While "Donahue" does badly trail both O'Reilly and CNN's Connie Chung in the ratings, those numbers have improved in recent weeks. So much so that the program is the top-rated show on MSNBC, beating even the highly promoted "Hardball With Chris Matthews."

Although Donahue didn't know it at the time, his fate was sealed a number of weeks ago after NBC News executives received the results of a study commissioned to provide guidance on the future of the news channel.

That report--shared with me by an NBC news insider--gives an excruciatingly painful assessment of the channel and its programming. Some of recommendations, such as dropping the "America's News Channel," have already been implemented. But the harshest criticism was leveled at Donahue, whom the authors of the study described as "a tired, left-wing liberal out of touch with the current marketplace."

5. Is NBC in denial?
Donahue is out of touch with the current marketplace, okay. There's gotta be some word to describe this. For pete's sake, the media creates the marketplace!!! NBC doesn't know this????

Perhaps the truth is they were scared that Donahue was actually attracting a market of people who were listening and getting the courage to stand up and speak out again! That wouldn't make the Bushies happy at all!

Donahue needed smarter assistants to help him hit with short sound bites that appeal to a younger society. Still, people were hungry for what he had to say. I could see it in his audience, even if NBC couldn't.

4. Faux News (hehe) is controversy news. It entertains more than CNN's
bland reporting and pandering to the right. Its disgusting when they're blatant by having Andrew Annie Coulter on. You know why? Because they know the liberal viewer will follow the controversy.
