I was told by my mother, that a coworker (who happens to be a repub) said that Bill Owens is a rising star in the Republican party and in politics and will make a run at the presidency in 2008. Your thoughts.

Lord, that's funny. Bill Owens making a run for the Presidency. You have got a killer sense of humor, man.

Seriously, I doubt it. Owens may dream, but he'll get crushed like an insect in favor of somebody more media-friendly and Southern. He'll have to be content with a high-level RNC post or maybe an ambassadorship.

he MIGHT salvage a board position at the Independence Institute or maybe someday a guest-host slot on a talk show at KOA out of the ruins of his political career. Even that is pretty doubtful at this point though.
