If we get Osama before Nov. are we doomed? |
|
As I see it, we have a reasonable chance to win right now but, will capturing osama completely destroy that chance?
I am told absolutely yes by some of my rrrrightwing coworkers but Im not so sure.

YES. And the three words that will describe my life after that are MOVING TO CANADA; I've already begun some preliminary preparations.

5. Too cold. I'm moving to mexico. Going down in the next couple months to |
|
meet with realtors to get the process going.
I can't imagine living in ice and snow for the rest of my life.
Gimme palm trees and tropical breezes in my political asylum please.

11. Yes, I prefer Playa Del Carmen for the time being... |
|
depending on its growth patterns.
Seeking a nice little casa on the other side of the highway, not on the beach.

14. I love Playa Del Carmen too |

We've been going there for years. Except this year because we can't afford it. :-(
Costa Rica is still a bargain too, and has a very stable government. Socialized health care too! :-)

10. Well, there are some places in Canada |
|
that aren't that cold at all. And I've grown up in Northeast Ohio, so cold doesn't bother me that much.
Besides, I speak only rudimentary Spanish and am not that good at languages, so I don't know what I'd do for employment.

and Dean will still be right. We misunderstand completely the hatred of the islamo-psychos of the american way of life and of (their own diseased definition) non-believers.

How can we not be safer with this two thugs either buried or behind bars? I think we do have a chance of beating shrub, but it doesn't help our credibility making wild statements like that!

There are a thousand things that may or may not happen over the year. No one knows what effect any of these will have on the public until they happen.

3. How do you get a dead guy? He's been dead since December 2001, by |
|
bush's own admission.
He said he was unconcerned about osama bin laden, sometime last year. Clearly he knows that bin laden is dead.
There is no way that a man on dialysis could survive with his disease in that advanced state, unless he was treated in a state-of-the-art facility.
Bin laden was on the run for the last few months of his life, and there is no way he could be on his machines and remain in the clean and sterile conditions one needs to battle such a serious illness.
But it serves the bushlers well to trot out the OBL corpse to keep the fear mongering hieghtened.
A populace crouching in fear is an easily controlled populace.

There's no reason to think that Osama would be out there in the caves. He could be getting state-of-the-art treatment somewhere, maybe not even on the same continent.
We are hemmed in by the idea we have of hierarchy and a single leader as something necessary, but others are not. There's really no need for Osama bin Laden to take be personally involved in everything that goes on in Al Qaeda. The "rank and file" know what needs to be done.

4. We are doomed if the illusion of prosperity created by spending |
|
our children's future is maintained through November.
Finding OBL would be a bump for *&Co. but won't matter if the charade that is our economy become clear.
I hope they do get him, but there is no way he would be taken alive.

our Democrats do not stand simply on the failures of Bush. That being said, Osama's capture would simply cause the US to refocus on domestic issues. "Uh Oh", Bush would say, "wtf do i do now - we need another hobgoblin distraction from the dismal state of our economy, and namely American jobs." No my friend, Bush will find that he is hemmed in on all sides by the truth, that he cannot escape the predicament he's in. Just like his daddy, war will not have helped his position.
Remember, Democrats outnumber the knuckledraggers. Lift up thine eyes.

9. Throw their words back in their faces. |
|
Edited on Wed Jan-07-04 11:32 AM by Minstrel Boy
If he is captured, throw back in the right's face the quotes from the Fall of 2001 and Spring of 2002, before the White House stopped mentioning his name. It was said, over and over again, that his capture wasn't important. Tommy Franks even said bin Laden's capture was not a goal of the Afghan campaign. And guess what? Bin Laden wasn't captured.
On March 13, 2002, Bush said "I don't know where he is. I have no idea and I really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."
Also, note the negligible Saddam "bounce." And Saddam had morphed into Osama years ago.

17. Excellent point, except that the Bushies reverse themselves so often |
|
and nobody calls them on it that this won't matter either; and even if they were to get OBL alive (which I doubt) the terra alert level would probably go to about level 41 or something, as his network would most likely continue and want some revenge, hey... They won't take it well, if we ever do get him...

bushsucks* has already ruled Osama irrelevant as he did Sadam Husein. Please notice that he was right about Sadam, nobody really cared that much when he was caught. Just as the Ameican public has forgot about Election 2000, they have forgotten Bin Laden. They have a short attention span.
