Is it just me or does Bush come off looking totally stupid......
when he struts to a podium and tries to come off as a tough guy. I don't mean to be mean, because I do think he is a pretty affable man, despite my vehement distaste for everything he has ever done and still does. I don necessarily hate him or anything, I do believe he is an absolutely unremarkable man, jokingly foolish, incurious to a fault and nothing more than a puffed up version of "Billy Madison" who should have nothing to do whatsoever with policies that effect people's lives.

But, honestly, his handlers should tell him, he looks like a total nimrod when he tries to act like a tough guy. The puffed out chest and overdone glare causes him to look like he's trying to think of something but can't get anything but a blank thought. Even when I try to be angry at him, he nearly makes me bust out in laughter with that dorky strut and stupid stare of his.

However, his little shoulders shrugging and that weasely giggle are creepy as hell. That freaks me out and makes my skin crawl. Then he goes back to the stupid look and makes me want to laugh again. It's a messed up rollercoaster that's for sure.

1. Chimp's persona is among the heavy burdens we citizens
of the Republic must bear this bleak winter of 2004.

Weary grows the over-televiZed soul, searching for substance.

2. I'm amazed that Bush even got through the 2000 debates
And considering that now--3 1/2 years later--he is on the verge of a nervous breakdown, it would be great to see him have to perform in public. I just hope people watch.

I can see why he does not do press conferences.

4. I saw a tape of him once
where the camera caught him before he or his handlers realized he was in range. He walked out totally dragging, shoulders slumped, head hanging, and then somebody gave him a poke. He straighted up, puffed out his chest and strutted out to the podium. It was the phoniest thing I've ever seen.

8. hmmmmmmmmmmm
When inauguration day arrived, Jenna and Barbara dressed to be noticed in trendy expensive outfits by Texas-born designer Lela Rose and sexy stiletto-heeled knee-high Jimmy Choo boots. When the moment came for the actual swearing-in, the 19-year-old girls fidgeted toward the edge of their chairs, then stood up, unsure how to behave. It fell to President Clinton, who gave each of them a gentle nudge toward their parents, and still they stood there, shoulders slumped, looking at their toes. Finally, their grandmother Barbara Bush, seated behind them, had seen enough. In one swift, practiced gesture, she reached forward to her granddaughters, first one, then the other. She put her thumbs between their shoulder blades and used her fingers to pull their shoulders up and back. The message was clear: Stand up straight! Remember who you are! We are Bushes, and Bushes stand up straight.

5. I partially think the poll numbers in favor of * are for his own benefit
Edited on Wed Jan-07-04 02:39 PM by lovedems
his handlers need a confident, arrogant cowboy for the start of the campaign. They need to have him believe that he is in the 60% range and (I believe I have heard the term) "unprecedented" consistenly high poll numbers. He is such a fool and since the WH controls the media, why not put out false numbers so the chimp feels good when he leaves his cage????? I wouldn't put it past them! That confident strut, while repulsive to us on DU is loved by the freepers.

7. Ignorance begats arrogance
And that fits awol to a TEE. If you can't carry on a rational conversation with someone who disagrees with you, puff up and act tough. He does it mostly with reporters and that is why his handler rove allows for the least amount of exposure to them as possible. But his act has worked; the reporters covering the WH are wimps. The same tactic works when you don't know what you are talking about. Think limbaugh, hannity, oreilly. They are awfully tough with that mute button when a liberal nails their asses, followed by the tough guy act as they cower behind their mikes.

a full shot or lengthy video of him walking, or doing anything constructive. he doesn't know protocol, he doesn't know how to conduct himself in public, he's a fumbling, bumbling fool. when he tries to be cute or improvise or make an off-the-cuff remark, he makes an idiot out of himself. the longest video I've seen of him was getting off of AF1, walking down the steps, waving, waving, walking down the tarmac, camera panning in a circle, waving, waving, stupid grin,THERE WAS NO ONE THERE EXCEPT A COUPLE OF MARINES AT ATTENTION!

11. I think that he looks drunk and stupid - especially when he leans with his
left elbow on the podium like someone who has had one too many leans on a bar. He starts to talk and he sounds like a confused, drunken fool.

But, according to Lucianne Goldberg the swagger, the cocky cowboy routine, etc. is what she and so many of the freeper types find appealing about him. Guess they like their men brainless and drunk?

The cute, fun-loving, chatty, witty ones who don't get drunk all of the time and who don't give you a hard time about taking away the keys. He's always struck me as being the obnoxious, mean kind of drunk who is no fun to be around at all.

And I just heard him say the word "violators" as if it was the first time he'd seen the word in print. "Vi-oh-lay-TORS." Is li'l George hooked on phonics?

It's even more of agutbuster to hear him attempt to pronounce words in Spanish EXACTLY like Spanish-speakers do. "May-heeee-CO." "Goan-ZAH-less."

How I pine for the easy banter and obvious intelligence of the Big Dog.

26. A preview of the 2004 debates:
Q: President Bush, your immigration bill has helped drive up stock prices at the same time it has put millions of others out of work. How do you respond to your critics?

A: They hate us for our freedoms. We entered a new era on September the 11th. We cannot let these evildoers get away.

Q: Mr. President, boxers or briefs?

A: Saddam is an evil man. He gassed his own people. The world is now a safer place. Our Homeland is now secure. Oh, and September 11th, too.

Q: Mr President. You seem to have alienated the entire world and squandered any good will that we had after september 11th. What will you do to strengthen our international ties?

A: How many times do I have to say it. We need moral clarity or we'll have mushroom clouds and anthrax in the hands of the evildoers. We can't have another september the eleventh.

It's really in the GOP interest to keep people as stupid/ignorant/scared as possible. When they see those polls that 70% of the US think the hijackers were Iraqis or whatever, they must go YEAH!! They need a huge "S" factor -- bad schools and no access to higher education for a lot of people insures their "S" class.

Its either a recessive gene, Southern Comfort, too much cocaine, or all of the above.

Every time the moron opens his mouth, we get an Einstein moment like this:

I think when people begin to realize that, when people begin -- that were, I would call them fence-sitters, when people begin to realize that the Saddam regime is gone forever, and that the new society that will emerge will be a fair society, it will protect people, and protect people from the -- protect them based upon their own religious views, for example, guarantee them rights -- is what I mean by "protect," that it's more likely people will begin to sign on to the future of Iraq. As you notice, when there's a hole in the ground and a person is able to crawl into it in a country the size of California, it means we're on a scavenger hunt for terror, and find these terrorists who hide in holes is to get people coming forth to describe the location of the hole, is to give clues and data. And we're on it.
Washington, D.C., Dec. 15, 2003

See, without the tax relief package, there would have been a deficit, but there wouldn't have been the comm -- commiserate -- the, the, the, the, not commiserate -- the, the, the -- kick to our economy that occurred as a result of the tax relief.
