I wrote a public forum in my local newspaper in November about the Prescott Bush link to Hitler and I received retaliation from some very hardcore Republicans in my town. I felt a little crazy but I know I was doing the right thing and that felt good! I then wrote a second public forum letter and gave the public the john-loftus.com link so they could see it for themselves.

It's so funny that the Repubs have called Hillary "Hitlery" and Rush always talks about "feminazis" and called Clinton followers "Clintonistas" and attempted to defame Daschle and Cleland comparng them to Osama bin Laden and nothing is ever said. so we give them a taste of their own medicine and they go ballistic. Figure that one out?? :shrug:

Read any high school or college newspaper column or letter to the editor--invariably, the author will engage in Reductio ad Hitlerum, i.e. tie their argument to Hitler somehow. Sure is interesting how excited the wingnuts get over an analogy that many of us have been making for quite awhile. Like they just "discovered" that a large segment of the American public believes GW Bush is a nazi. Gee, maybe if Zogby or CNN had phrased one of their many phony polls this way, they might have been surprised by the response.

Anyone care to guess what such a poll's numbers might have been?

My father fought with the 100th Division in 1945. He fought plenty of nazis. My cousin was a pilot who spent 4 years as a German POW. My family knows what nazis are. And I say Bush is a nazi. I bet more Americans agree with me than with Drudge.

But he wouldn't know, would he? Because he doesn't have the guts to ask the question.
