Anyone know where I can find a collection of links or information on activist events here in Santa Monica? I've been looking, but had little luck.
Even better - anyone here actually in Santa Monica? Maybe you can help me out with local info? Thanks in advance! :)

Didn't it just close down? A victim of high rents?
Though if so I think it moved elsewhere.
LA Weekly may have some listings in their calendar section.
That or the Unitarian Church in Santa Monica may have some stuff.
The Church in Ocean Park (3rd and Hill) used to be a bastion of activism, but it has been ages since I had anything to do with that.
Lastly, go to the food co-op (Co-Opportunity) and see flyers and stuff on the community bulletin board.

They closed down a few months ago. Seems as though the couldn't pay their lease. But Borders and B&N are still around... :grr:

I can't hear them in San Diego but I did when I was passing through L.A. a couple of months ago. Good station.

6. Darn. I just moved from that gem of a town last year. |
|
and now the Midnight Special Bookstore is closed?!!! Has it really? That would be very bad. Guess they gotta put some clothing store there instead, eh? Santa Monica used to be called Little Russia when Jane Fonda and Tom were there. If they have a Veterans for Peace chapter there I would start with them, they're sure to know of others. Good luck. Oh, and if you check out the LA Times in the jobs classified you might find a number under A for activists.
