7. No, this is the absolute truth.

I am a woman and I will be thirty-six on the 19th and I've never had vaginal intercourse. The honest reasons are a bit deeper (um, that sounds kinky in light of the current topic) than the one I gave above. I was looking at all the "I'm a ___________. Ask me anything" posts and this is one true thing about me that I figured would get a reaction. :D That and the whole atheist thing, but that's another post.

I have no real desire for sex. Mostly I crave intimacy on a intellectual and emotional level. One guy in the last forum I was on kept telling me all I had to do to cure every problem in my life was do the horizontal bop. :) I found that amusing. I've been in a similar similar, even though I've never been "molested" and I grew up in a rather bohemian household where sex was not taboo, just another natural function where it wasn't polite to be do in public where it would scare the horses and scandlize crochety little old aunts and uncles...

I'm one of those who would rather have a shower massage set on "who needs a man" than "just have sex" without the love and respect connections. It just doesn't feel real without those
connections - but then, I'm also an empath, and if someone's close enough to me to have sex without those connections, it's not a pleasant feeling.

I've used a shower massage, good chocolate, and romance novels since I was 18 to give myself those little lifts. After all, the brain is the most sexual organ you have.

BTW, I was a virgin until I was 27 - and if it weren't for that one time when a bunch of "friends" did everything in their power to convice me that it would be "good for me" (the outset of which just ended up causing more confusion and depression at that time), I'd probably still have been a virgin when I finally married my best friend and lover last year - at the age of 42.

Of course, there's nothing wrong with exploration and everyone has their own level of comfort and readiness when it comes to sex with others; I believe everyone should be able to approach sex at their own time and in their own manner without coersion or shame.
