Has anyone else felt compelled to read Dicken's Tale of Two Cities again?
I remember the first time I read it I was horrified by the hatred the masses had embodied in Madame DeFarge. Now I say "knit one, pearl two".

There is a real lesson in this book for everyone. I am glad the guillotine has been abandoned but it is time to put some heads on the political chopping block and bring in a change.

The haves may not see it but I smell revolution in the air.

1. It’s a far, far better thing I did not read that pot-boiler.

2. Glad you brought it up..

...I haven't read the book since high school, but I remember enjoying it very well. You're right, it really paints the picture of upheaval. I should start it again! I remember the women, sitting, and observing everything...and recording it all in their knitting.

4. I yearn to see the tumbrils roll...
and hear the (political) guillotine go "snicker-snack!" Remember "Marat/Sade?" "String up every aristocrat! Up with the priests and let them live on their fat!" "We've got nothing, always had nothing, nothing but holes and millions of them - holes in our bellies, holes in our clothes...Marat, we're poor, and the poor stay poor. Marat, don't make us wait any more. We want our rights, AND WE DON'T CARE HOW! WE WANT OUR REVOLUTION NOW!!!!"
