I gotta say that back in the day, I liked the Spinners better. Nowadays though, I like the Stylistics better.

3. You forgot what most of the people I know consider The Spinners best song: |
|
SADIE
I like both groups, but The Spinners get my vote.

I decided to list only the Top 40 pop hits of those two groups. Unfortunately, "Sadie" missed the forty.

5. It was sort of a gospel song... that's why it never was on the pop charts |
|
However, it's my favorite song by them....just the pure passion in that song.....I can't even start to explain it.
Sorta' like "Belle" by Al Green, and mixture of gospel and soul. However, it's not preaching or evangalizing, it's just pure passion.
Most of the people I talk to who have similar musical interests as me (soul, old school, reggae, hip-hop, r&b, jazz, blues) seem to have that as their favorite, too.
It's one of the songs I play at my desk at work (I have about 5 or 6 days worth of songs that I listen to at work, and about a few weeks worth of songs on my home computer), and a lot of people ask about that song.
However, everybody seems to like "Working My Way Back To You" a lot too (they actually have heard that one, though).

"It's GOT to be a shame." John The Stylistics are A-OK, too -- but, yeah, the Spinners.
