1. Photography books
Computer books are obsolete with minutes, but the photo books will be relevant always.

Or the best thing: get one photo book and The Elements of Typographic Style by Robert Bringhurst. Perhaps the most important design/aesthetics/composition related book you'll ever own. It had a very positive and necessary effect on me in my artwork and photography. And also helped me in my designing of powerpoint slides when I was doing that stuff, but oddly enough, I don't really do anything in typography but still consider this an essential book. What the book really is is a book about what makes compelling and interesting artwork in terms of use of space. I can't recommend it enough.
